[It had taken her a while to figure out the tablet. It was a technology she wasn't exactly familiar with. But once she had gotten the basics of how to work it, she was able to explore what it could do.

Her face appears while she's still messing around with the device. Obviously she hadn't realized it was already recording as she doesn't really say ( Read more... )

[Truthfully, this is Jill's first personal appearance on the Network in days. She's been watching it like a hawk, though, so she doesn't take long to see this broadcast.

Even when she does, there's a stunned moment before she replies, because -- it's been years, but... going by Claire's appearance, time periods aren't adding up. ...Again.]

Claire?

[A beat] Claire Redfield?

[Claire's response takes a moment as well. Because she has to process the way Jill looks. And honestly, it surprises her to see someone she actually knows.]

Jill? What are you doing here? You look... different.

[Damn.]

...It's a long story. For now, you need to know that you're conscious, and that you've been abducted along with the rest of us.

[And she can be seen moving around her room, holding the tablet aloft as she goes.] I'll come to you -- give me a few minutes.

[Another brief pause] Are you armed?

I've got my colt still, but I'm a bit limited on ammo. Wesker took my shotgun.

[ The camera moves. She's getting up. Shes' a bit stiff, but she'll make it.]

Someone gave me directions. I can meet you part way.

[...Wesker, huh. Jill considers that, nodding slowly.] Okay. Don't push yourself. [She's noticed that stiffness, and the bruises.]

I'll use the main road, so you'll see me coming from a way off. Stay alert, just in case.

[And she's on the move in under a minute, quickly making her way down the aforementioned road -- dressed casually, except for the gun strapped to her thigh and the couple cases on her belt. Not that they look that out of place on her, of all people.]

Heh, story of my life. I'll see you soon.

[She followed the directions she'd been given. The flat computer was awkward to carry and keep her gun at the ready, but she didn't want to just leave her only communication device behind. So she managed.

She spotted what looked like a person in the distance heading her way, and she picked up her pace to a jog. She called out when she thought she could be heard without shouting. No sense in waiting the neighbors so to speak.]

Jill?

[When she hears the call, Jill raises a hand briefly in greeting with a smile -- also the first real smile she's given in days. Once close enough, her natural reaction is to go for a friendly hug, but she refrains; she figures how this must all be coming off, and if she's right, she's over a decade older than she should be to Claire. No sense in possibly making her more uncomfortable.]

Hey. I guess you've heard the typical greetings by now?

[Claire's instinct actually mirrored Jill's. But she saw the moment of refrain and accepted it. She could understand. It wasn't exactly safe out here.]

Yeah, it's been a remarkable change of pace. [She paused, switching gears.] So I've sort of been given the run down, but I have to ask. What the heck is going on? Is this for real?

[Jill had time to consider the best method of explanation on the way over, so she only thinks for a couple seconds before responding.]

For the most part, it's as they say. A large number of people -- as many as sixty, at one point -- have been abducted by one of the people running this place. They go by the names Hecate and Hades, as in the Greek gods. [She glances to the side, thoughtful.]

Whether or not you believe them is your call, but there's no doubt about it: they're strong. They're capable of a lot of things even you and I would call crazy.

The same goes for this place: if it's not the actual Greek Underworld, then it's pretty convincing.

[She takes a moment to process the information. She trusted Jill to be on the level. But the answer just bred more questions.]

So are we dead then? [She tried not to let the slight trepidation show in her voice, but Claire was ever a girl that wore her thoughts and feelings rather clearly on her face.]

[She takes a moment to let her Srs Biznis face turn back into a smile -- a comforting one.] No. If you were alive before you showed up here, you still are.

The same can't be said of everyone here, though. Again, I know it sounds crazy, but... after a couple weeks here, not much comes as a surprise.

Well, I guess that's a relief. So, how come you look... [Despite the obvious fact that neither of them were those ultra feminine type of women, no girl ever wanted to be called 'old'. So she had to take a second to rephrase her words.] Not how I remember you looking.

[Her smile turns a little wry]

I'm guessing it's still 1998 for you. [She hesitates]

...Before I arrived here, the date was 2009.

[Action] sister_redfield February 29 2012, 17:51:52 UTC
2009?! [Eleven years older? This was definitely getting into the realm of crazy. Even by her standards.]

Okay. So is Chris...? [She let it hang there, because she was almost afraid of the answer. The last she'd seen of him he'd been facing off against Alexia Ashford, Psycho Tyrant Bitch Queen of the South.]

He's perfectly fine, don't worry. He'd actually just saved my ass when I was pulled here.

[She looks at Claire directly, nodding slightly. In trying to explain Chris to others, Jill always felt that she fell short -- but Claire's a rare person who knows him even better than Jill does, so she figures she doesn't have to try as hard.]

...And a lot more, besides. It took time, but your brother just ended the nightmare for a lot of people.

[She physically relaxed when she heard those words. He was okay. Better than okay. She clenched down on the emotions that were threatening to surge up into the gap the relief had opened in her. She couldn't let loose just yet. There was still a lot to get through before that time.

She pulled herself back together as Jill continued with the news.]

Ended it? How? What happened?
