[A disgruntled woman dressed in armor appears on the screen. It seems as though she doesn't realize yet that the device has switched on, she's looking away from the screen and towards the river, muttering to herself.]

[ He actually smiles fondly. Okay...he smiles fondly for Fenris. ] Aveline. I wish the circumstances were better, but it is good to see you either way.

[She nods towards the screen, returning his smile. She understands and appreciates any (little) sentiment coming from him] Fenris.

[She sighs and rubs her forehead]Carver's been telling me that you've somehow gained the ability to time travel and that the Hawkes are multiplying. If this were any other situation and I heard talk like that come out of the boy's mouth, I'd assume he had finally been hit upside the head a few too many times and that his brains were permanently addled...

[He crosses his arms and looks away for a moment.] So, you know the boy as well? I do not. I know his twin, Bethany. Aside from Hawke, who across several worlds seems to have a very tumultuous family, we seem at least only minutely changed.

[A pause where his tone darkens.] Anders is here.

[She shakes her head] Hawke mentioned you knew her, just not as a mage.

[She raises an eyebrow even though his tone mixed with the name 'Anders' isn't all that surprising] I haven't seen him yet. Are there no Templars here? Maybe he will like this world better.

Only one, who would be King of Ferelden. [A pause.] King Alistair, who insists he's horrible at leading.

Yes, so horrible that he insists he's not actually the King of Ferelden at all.

I wonder how long it'll be before Merill, Varric and the whore appear. How long have you been here?

Yes. Perhaps Hawke was mistaken. [He looks thoughtful for a moment.] Nearly two weeks, give or take. It's difficult to say when there is not sun to gauge it on.

[She looks alarmed and a little bit concerned] Two weeks?

[She goes quiet for a bit] Have you seen these [Her brow furrows, she still feels ridiculous saying these things and she practically spits the word out] gods that the others keep speaking of?

[A nod.] Yes.

[And then a small shake of his head.] I have not, but given the...differences in the lot of us I've perceived here, I don't doubt they exist.

[She shakes her head] I need to sit down and let this all properly sink in. Preferably not next to this river...

[She turns the device around so that the city is now on the screen]

Is that where you all are staying?

[A nod.] It is. There are hundreds of abandoned buildings for the taking. [He holds up a hand.] And before you say anything, these are clean.

[She laughs and turns the device back towards her] I wasn't about to make any assumptions.

We should meet in person, after I've found a place of my own. I'm getting tired of only speaking to people through...[She looks at the screen with slight disgust] whatever this is.

I have no doubt you can hold you own, but be careful. There are beasts about.

[A nod.] I admit, it perplexes me, and annoys me at the same time. If you follow the path from the dock, you'll reach a gate of sorts, crumbling as it is. I could find you there, if you'd like.

At least they left us with our own weapons. [She pulls out her sword with her free hand] All right then, I'll see you there.

[He nods to his friend.] And you, Aveline. [And he disconnects feed.]

[He made is way to the gate he'd mentioned and waiting, leaning against one of the pillars there.]

[She gives a small wave to him as she stomps on over. Her sword is sheathed and her shield is on her back, but her armor and face is splattered here and there with blood, none of it her own] You were right. I ran into a Hurlock, I think it was lost. I put it back into the ground where it belonged.

[She smiles. Beating her frustrations out on the Hurlock has improved her mood] Do the creatures roam in the city as well?
