Test 01 [ Audio ]

Apr 25, 2011 10:04

[The last thing that Wesker remembers prior to his very Hellenistic ferry ride is lying in a pool of his own blood, diluted by the nutrient-rich solvent from the broken Tyrant tank. The shift between the two periods is, at its very best, unsettling-- but the voice that comes across the audio feed is cool and dry.]

Stars, do you read? Come in.

[Wesker has always been straightforward. Punctual. Logical, as far as the virus can deduce. So (finally) hearing the crackle of his voice on the feed catches Jill's attention entirely, enough to drop everything she was doing and redirect her focus to answering -- but there's no question as to his choice of words. It's not something she understands -- Jill herself, in the claustrophobic corner of her mind, wonders what he's playing at, but it's not in P30's nature to question.

A responding audio feed clicks on not two seconds after his transmission ends, her voice low and blank, but attentive. Expectant. It's not often it uses its host's name, but given the audio and unnatural circumstances, it doesn't hurt.]

Jill, reporting in.

[Inwardly, Jill herself lashes uselessly at that, hating that kind of touch far more than she hates his professional pokes and proddings.

Outwardly, her eyes stay on his face and she doesn't blink, let alone move. Everything about her remains entirely relaxed.]

[The next test is a ringing slap, hard enough to leave her cheek red in its wake.]

[She recovers easily enough, turning back to him again a moment later.

Neither her expression nor her poise has budged in the slightest.]

Interesting. [Even though he wants to strip her down and run tests, this is obviously not the time or place. For now it is enough to have her here at his beck and call. Wesker closes the catch back over his gun, denying the part of him that wants to shoot her-- that part is more personal vendetta than valid testing. She's clearly subservient to him; shooting her would prove nothing.]

It is my understanding that we are, somehow, in the Underworld. Can you validate this? [There's no reason to treat her as a human being when she's currently so much less.]

My interactions with the local populace have extracted a similar explanation from all those questioned. The people here believe themselves to have been abducted from their respective "worlds" for the requirement or amusement of the reported "gods" believed to own this location.

My exploration of the premises has yielded an approximate outline, but with no apparent exit. Rivers and forests block all the sides of the city. I was uncertain of your orders after being separated from yourself and the agents, so I have yet to investigate the forest due to the presence of creatures of unknown origin.

In answer to your question, there is currently no evidence to support that we are in a mythical setting.

[Who knew that Jill Valentine could be so very useful? Wesker knew that she was skilled-- it was the reason for including her in S.T.A.R.S. in the first place-- but Jill had always been so reliant on others to back her up in tight spots. A flaw.

This creature who stood here in front of him...

A decade. He'd done so much.]

I want you to stay close at all times, Jill, unless otherwise noted, and defend me if necessary. When the virus runs out in three days-- what will happen? [If this isn't all some strange dream (or, somehow, actual death), he'd like to be prepared for all scenerios.]

Understood.

[A slight moment of pause as she considers.] ...The virus' influence will be eradicated and the host will regain control until either the administration device's supply is replenished or you apply a subsequent injection.

Judging by her past actions, she will most likely attempt to kill you as soon as she is able. [It's said coolly, no personal opinion on the matter either way.]

[There is a pause, considering, before Wesker chuckles.] I see. Unless Hell stocks lab equipment, I suppose we are looking at that eventuality.

You said earlier that the P30 enhances physical attributes. Does that mean that without it you're only human?

[While that first part was really just a personal musing, she hears it all the same and gives her two cents in response. She was taught to be of use, after all.] There is a market beside the residential area. The stores there vary largely and inclusively in necessities and equipment, although I have not investigated thoroughly.

Yes. The physical effects last only as long as your control.

[Helpful indeed. A very lucky break in a very strange situation, having Jill here, like this. Then again... Wesker doesn't really believe in luck.]

Is thre? I suppose we'll have to check it out. [Though even just the chance of these stores having the tools to draw blood seem like a remote possibility, not to mention a centerfuge to seperate it for storage.]

Am I the only one who can control you?

[She gives him a momentarily blank look that somehow manages to come off even blanker than usual.]

Unless you designate another as possessing the same status of authority, yes.

[Well that is good to know.] No, Jill. I would never, under any circumstances, designate another as possessing the same status of authority. In fact-- if anyone tries to tell you different?

Kill them.

[She makes a mental note that this list must include Excella, as well, past experiences notwithstanding. That's the only person she can immediately deduce as possibly telling her such a thing.

Her head drops slightly in acknowledgment.] Understood.

Lovely. [If anyone truly believes that they have the same authority as Wesker? They deserve the surprise they'd receive.]

Is there shelter somewhere? Water, food?

The residential areas consist of apartments and houses of various sizes. Each appears to come stocked with basic necessities, including food and water. I have been using one since a day after my arrival in the few occasions when resting was an optimal possibility.
