The "gods" were responsible for this, weren't they? Why would they do such a thing? What did that even accomplish besides...just bringing up the past? [Looks at the screen rather sadly before lowering it

[Why he's asking Anders of all people about this, he isn't even sure. Since two days ago, he's had the feeling that something, some sort of memory was looming there at the edge of his mind, but that he couldn't remember it.]

You've pretty much spent the past ten years looking for him. [To Anders' knowledge, anyway.] You were doing the same then, just for different reasons.

[Pauses.] The gods did this to us. I don't know how, or why, but they did.

[But for what other reasons? If he ever had any other, he doesn't remember them, and that, most likely, is what's eating at him the most. He heaves a frustrated sigh.]

Why would who I choose to swear by mean anything to you?

[Anders obviously isn't going to help him understand what happened, so why keep asking?]

Nothing. It was just unexpected. You were looking for him because...that is what slaves do? I tried to convince you to escape, but you mentioned your family.

[He folds one arm over the other that's holding the device.] Look. It was magic, Fenris. I probably remembered the whole experience because of that.

My...family...? [He'd mentioned his family? He had one to mention? It was all too much. His hand goes to his head briefly and he looks away.]

Right. Don't worry about it. [Well, that was weird.]

Hadrianna...mentioned that but she couldn't be trusted. [But neither could Anders when all was said and done. He'd probably say anything to put Fenris at a disadvantage after he'd nearly lost his life to him...]
