Major Torchwood spoilers

They just had to kill of Ianto, didn't they. Going through the postings, there are a lot of very upset people out there. I was in tears at the end, and now I am feeling really pissed off. It sometimes seems like whenever I get a good obsession going over some fandom pairing, they kill of one of them.
X-Files - Krycek was the first, even going so far as to have Skinner shoot him, K/Sk being the pairing I loved. It wasn't even a good death which furthered the plot. It just seemed pointless. At least Ianto's death was a combat death.
Harry Potter verse - The next was killing Sirius off, that was a huge shock at time when my major fandom was Sirius/Severus. Then I came to love Severus/Harry and Jo killed Severus off!
And the rumours are that this is the last series of Torchwood. In one way, that's good because it means that I can go AU with no messy canon getting in the way.
