Wow, you did a fantastic job finding a whole host of body language cues to mention. I imagine that must have been difficult. Especially since I believed each and every one of them, but they weren't obvious. That was extremely well-done. I love the fact that you pointed out in the story that Sherlock taught John to appreciate detail, the tiny, overlooked piece of information communicating a hidden message of truth. That really made this study of tiny detail seem like an even more in-depth study of what they mean to each other than longer, more overt pieces I've read. What I'm saying is that these lines here: "If there's one thing that John had learned from Sherlock, it was that he loves the smallest details. He doesn't need grand; a minute act can express everything." Yeah, that'd my head-canon now. And the final scene where John is watching (one of my FAVORITE) a Doctor Who ep and this little interaction takes place. Oh, that was really excellent. You were actually able to write a story that never said it out loud but still said some
( ... )
I imagine that must have been difficult. Oh lawd, the truth in these words. My beta was so amused at me because I had to rewrite this roughly 8 times (yes, I kept track :'D) before I found something I thought worthy. Good to know the constant rewriting paid off!
Also, OMG, THAT TOO IS TOTALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES. It's the first Doctor Who episode I saw, actually, & it was enough to reel me! \O/
