Dear guy on the bike at the intersection,
I understand you're on a bike and all, but when there is a green turn arrow for the cars, and a red light in the direction you're going, it means that it's not safe for you to go. By trying to cross against the light, you forfeit any dirty-look rights towards the car turning.

As a biker, stories like that make me really mad. I mean, really? Who in their right mind will treat bicycles like vehicles if they insist on breaking the law? Sheesh....

I try not to do it myself, because it is stupid and dangerous and a nuisance.

On the other hand, sometimes it's easy to fall into relying on what you see rather than the lights, because as a biker or walker you get used to the fact that drivers make dangerous, illegal moves on nearly literally every cycle of every light in the city limits. So you get into an autopilot where lights are sort of irrelevant compared to the large chunks of metal that people seem to want to kill you with.

Not that I'm saying this person was like that. ;) Just general ranting, I'm still angry about how my neighbor got hit.

Another reason I hate spring: the emergence of all the stupid bikers. Yes, the smart ones come out, too, but the stupid ones are a bit more in your fender.
