Firebird Festival

We went to the Firebird Festival in Phoenixville last night. Phoenixville is, of course, named for the mythological bird which rises reborn from the ashes of its death. The Festival has become a way to mark the town's revitalization, and, after Blobfest, is probably the seminal event here

I'm assuming that they light it in a way so that certain parts of it burn first? That looked really cool. How long did it take to burn?

And yes it was naaaaaaaastyy out last night!

Yeah, they sort of start burning it in the center, then it spreads out to the wings, which are wired to the body. It was waaaaaaaaay cool! And it really only took about 15 minutes, although it seemed a lot longer while we were standing there.
