george is always telling me about the characters in these books from when he read them as a boy. THIS theme park sounds super fantastic to me, its totally perfect for us, its our
I loved these books as a child. And still do. In retrospect I loved them so much because of how utopian the social organization seemed to me--a gentle, loving, capable matriarch in charge of the Moomingvalley, a very diverse, fluid household where members come and go, pursuing their interests and adventures, an open and integrative idea of family, where friends get integrated as family members, and whenever there is conflict with strangers or newcomers, they get adopted into the social fabric of the valley. an oh, they amazing adventures!
wow its so cool to find out more about them! I would love to see the real books. One night a long time ago, when I was feeling sad or tired or something, I said "tell me a story" the way I do to a lover time to time, and he started telling me this wild, crazy story. WOW. like the story of stories. He remembers all their names, the intracacities of it, he has a very good memmory like that, and can tell me the stories. It was so wild, I thought he was making it up off the top of his head - he said, no this is a real story. He loved them as a kid. His best teacher, the best nun at his catholic school, the one who saw the "spark" in him, gave him the books when he was a little boy

WOW! Now I saw they were making new collections of the comic strips she had in a newspaper, but I want to read the books themselves, finn family moomins, I think is the first one. THATS GREAT, I will come check them out
I highly recommend reading the Moomin collections. They're all in my public library system, and they might be in yours, too. Seriously. Really wonderful stuff. I wanted to get a Moomin tattoo when I first started reading them two years ago, but there were just so many great images. I couldn't choose.
