Those cows don't deserve the courtesy. I know, one of them almost wound up stranding me on a desert island once. I think it caused a tanker truck to crash into a fast-food joint, too. Devil-cows. That's why the aliens abduct them: they're making cow armies. Just you wait and see.
The cows mean no harm, really. They're sweet things. The only reason they'd ally themselves with the aliens would be because the aliens are their ray of hope in this cruel world. Humans have oppressed the cows for so long, and they've had enough!
If the cow armies do indeed come, I welcome our new bovine overlords.
But the aliens mutilate the cows. They're not really that bright. The one that dragged me halfway across Japan wound up drowning itself out in the ocean 'cuz it wouldn't stop. Thing stank to high heave 'fore it got to land.

Those aliens are humans. At least on my world. Humans invade and take over, and then they mutilate the cows. I am sorry to hear what happened to that poor cow. I shall do a grievance dance on my way to save the poor trees.
