toopid baby industry trying to get moneys out of all the mommies and daddies. I feel ya on the outrageously overpriced nonsense. You actually dodged a bullet by getting married as hurredly as you did. average cost of an american wedding $20,000. Hi, I am not independently wealthy and cannot afford anything with the lable of 'wedding' on it because everything 'wedding' is marked up by ridiculous amounts to try an bully brides into buying dumb stuff because of all the excitement. Ditto for baby excitement I would assume. Kudos to you for keeping you head and wits about you and not falling prey to the marketing traps designed to prey on a new mom's weaknesses.

Did you try paperdirect.com? They are the awesome. I got my graduation invitations cheap. Life $55 for 200. About 1/3 of what the cost was elsewhere.

I think I need to look into making some of these birth announcements to sell in my Etsy shop. If people are willing to pay $90 for 25, I'm pretty darn sure I can do it for cheaper... personalized, even... :)
