And then 2009 asserted itself. This was written in a fit of angst after we found out Brendon moved to LA, but before we found out that Ryan moved there as well. Working title: How To Shoot At Someone Who Outdrew You.Ryan's lying comfortably on his back on the grass when a shadow looms over him and a toe connects with his side, prodding at him

Yeah, I know what you mean. Which is really too bad, because this is gorgeous. Stupid boys splitting up and having stupid breakups instead of just being adorably in love. :)

Now this one is one of the ones where I'm just dying for more (this is part of the torture of this). Ryan is his usual faily self, and that makes him seem like a bit of an arsehole at times. Would this have had a Ryden ending?

Honestly, I don't know that they would have ended up together! I think Ryan written like this doesn't really deserve Brendon or even exactly want to be with him, I think he just wants Brendon to be available to him. Like they've been on and off with each other for years, but Brendon's never made any concerted effort to get away from him, and Ryan never thought he'd do something like actually move away.

I don't know that I had any ending in mind, I just sorted of wanted to wallow in angst, but thinking on it now the rest of the story would have gone something like this: the night before Ryan and Keltie break up, Ryan texts Brendon that he loves him and wants to be with him. The text that comes the next morning, the one that Keltie reads, is Brendon saying he loves Ryan too but doesn't want to be with him. And that, after a fashion, basically leads to the breakup of the band - Ryan just can't handle it.
