it's not bad. it's just normal. unless it makes you have to shit uncontrollably. then it's definitely bad.

true true. i remember you commenting to me that the Library Science program wasn't for you. have you decided what else you are going to do? i think i idealize being a librarian too much. like it will be really cool. but then i look at the courses and think, "ick."

i did the same thing. i thought it would be so great being surrounded by books and organizing them and ordering new ones whenever they came out. but then i started taking the classes and it seemed like it was less about enjoying the books and more about helping the public

thank you for putting so much thought into that. yeah, i think that any grad program should be approached with caution, whether it be library science or journalism or whatever. i think that sometimes i feel that getting a grad degree in a "stable" career, such as being a librarian, is a better option than being in the television industry. it's a big commitment to make. i know there must be some librarians who love what they do, or there wouldnt be so many programs i guess. i am going to continue to ask your advice as slowly head toward the process of applying to places. who knows? maybe i will get my doctorate in film studies too:)
