Character’s Name: Aaron Gawain
Character’s Fandom: The Tarot Cafe
Point in time the character is taken from: Just as he was kidnapped by Harut and Marut in vol 5.
Character’s Personality: In many ways, Aaron is simply a relatively normal young boy. He's sensitive though, and more than a little cowardly, with a tendency towards being over emotional...but he has a good heart. Normally cheerful, Aaron tries not to let himself get too caught up in being wistful or too lost in his past. It isn't often that he'll talk overmuch about what he went through...but sometimes he'll open up and talk about himself, if he feels he can trust someone. Usually these periods of self-talkative don't last for long however, and he will slip into silence and turn away with a wistful glint in his eye.
Beyond that, Aaron is eternally curious, wanting to know what he can about other people and how he can possibly help them. His friends are his world...and while not a fighter he will stand at their side and show his support. Just don't ask him to fight...he doesn't like violence. It's rather scary and he's painfully aware of his own weaknesses. Normally, Aaron doesn't like confrontation, and often shies away from potential fights. He's well aware of his own shortcomings, both physical and emotional, and while he is trying to better himself, typical teenage laziness gets in the way. That, and of course his never-ending quest to find his former adoptive parent and be forgiven.
Of course, this changes in his werewolf form. Aaron is young, and doesn't know the first thing about how to control it. Because of this, on the night of the full moon of each month, at night when he transforms, he tries to chain himself to a wall, or otherwise lock himself away, because he cannot control what he does. That form is too wild, too raw and primal, and Aaron is unaware of what he does when in that form. It stays that way until he transforms back at dawn, and then he can free himself and set about business and life as normal.
Biography link: Aaron was born into a low-income, broken home. His mother died when he was a very young boy, and his father was a drunkard and physically abusive when intoxicated, which was all too often. However, all of that changed rapidly when he was sixteen. A mysterious stranger showed up at the Gawain household and offered Aaron's father "enough liquor to keep him drunk for the rest of his life." The transaction was met with gusto and Aaron was soon after sold into the stranger's grasp. He was left to his own devices at the edge of a forest and moved inwards steadily, to escape his father and try to find the stranger who had...purchased him. The boy instead came upon a rather large group of women dancing nude about a bonfire. Moving closer, one lovely, wild haired woman turned, seeing the boy approaching. Lips curved upwards in a smile and she began to slowly move towards him. Stroking his cheek, smiling so softly, it was a shock when she changed before his eyes, morphing into a beast! A werewolf that meant to attack him! Nebiros arrived then, however and saved him, killing the woman for touching what was -his.-
He was taken to his new home, fed and cared for... Nebiros just wanted someone to love him, someone who could melt the ice that had encased his heart. A devoted father figure to Aaron who took care of him, seemed to adore him, and spoiled him rotten. How easily he fell into routine. Nebiros wanted him, needed him, and though he sometimes felt like a prisoner for not being allowed to leave those walls, he was there for the demon lord...was fond of him, more so when his father died and Nebiros became all he had. Yet...even then a part of him wanted freedom, as is natural for anyone young, anyone human
It wasn't until the other had left for a time, leaving Aaron alone that curiosity got the better of him. He was lonely, missed his father...and found friendship in a girl from the village far below. It was a welcome thing, this girl's companionship, and daily Aaron would find himself sitting at the balcony while she told stories of the outside world.
The final day before Nebiros would return had arrived.
"Run away with me!" she urged, and Aaron was swayed. Off they went, together. They were far from the fortress and it's protective walls when it happened, when he was betrayed. The boy was shocked to find that the girl who had befriended him was another lycan creature. Attacking him, she too died as Nebiros arrived just in time to save his wayward charge. But...there was no forgiveness...and he left the boy there, his own heart broken by Aaron's betrayal, however misguided. He left Aaron there, alone. Even later when Aaron tried to find his way back to the Fortress he had called home with Nebiros...it was gone.
He was truly alone. It was after this that he was left, due to that attack that Nebiros saved him from, with the curse of lycanthropy. He made his way away, far away, and eventually found Pamela, working with her as a waiter in the Tarot Cafe until such a time as he can find Nebiros again and beg forgiveness.
Sample RP Log: Wha....Pamela? Oh no, where am I?! This isn't London...Th-this isn't anywhere NEAR the cafe!
[his voice lowers to a horrified whisper]
what have I done....? W-was I kidnapped? Oh god I was kidnapped again! HELP!
[His voice fades as he continues to call out to the surrounding area then comes back after a moment, still shaky. It seems he's calmed down, at least a little, taking a few deep breaths before speaking once more.]
...Wait. If I were kidnapped I-I wouldn't be outside, would I? No, no, I'd be...tied to a chair or something! B-but I don't get it. How did I end up here?
[he whimpers here, sighing]
I...really really don't like this. Pamela? Belus! Nebiros...?
...Anyone?
I...I don't like being here all alone...
Can someone help me, please...?
Sample Journal: His eyes opened slowly, gaze slowly turning upwards, staring at the dismal sky. At first, he was unable to register anything in particular. Just a typical, heavily overcast sky. For a moment, Aaron remained where he was, leaning back against...something solid, not yet wanting to try and move. His head ached, each heartbeat sending a pulsing pain through his skull. The boy was tired, but when he finally registered that he was outside he got to his feet in a hurry, whirling about with a small cry of fear.
Where was he? For a moment panic overtook him, wondering then and there if his other form had somehow taken over. Had lead him far from the safety Pamela's cafe had to offer. But no. A quick glance down at himself revealed that there were no chains on his ankles or wrists...nothing to indicate he'd been trapped. The cold feeling vanished, replaced with simple uncertainty.
"What is this place...? Or ../where for that matter..." he whined in a quavery, whispering voice that Aaron almost didn't recognize as his own. After all, he'd been working so hard to build up his own confidence with Pamela's help...and it was all too easy to fall back into what he really was: a scared boy.
Slowly, disoriented but determined (despite his trembling), Aaron began to make his way away from that rusted vehicle. Debris littered the streets, which looked eerily abandoned. Empty. He wondered briefly how a place so barren and desolate could exist outside of a faerie tale (to his chagrin). But thinking in that vein left him with so many other unanswered questions. Why had he been abandoned here? Where was here, precisely? Immediately, his thoughts jumped to Nebiros, and he was turning around a corner, desperate for anything to lead him to him, or at the very least... inhabited civilization. A voice, footsteps, anything!
But there was nothing, immediately to comfort him. No Nebiros, or Pamela. No quaint cafe. Just debris, empty streets...
"Is there anybody out here?" he called out softly, turning this way and that, still trying to catch sight of someone, still trying to listen for people. But there was nothing. Uneasily, he turned away, but now the car was lost from sight. Had he gone that far? He hadn't thought so, but then again nothing here seemed to make sense as it should.
"C-can anyone hear me...?" his shoulders slumped as he moved towards a bus stop bench, flopping down, dejected.
He hated being alone.
