Welcome to Edensphere, Lady; I go by the name of Fred.

Just at the moment, it is a tad difficult to assign work. I believe many are choosing to look upon this as a holiday of sorts. I am sure that once things return to relative normalcy you will be able to find a job.

Thank you, it's nice to meet you, Fred.

I hope so. Do you know what's going on, exactly? I was only told there were a lot of ants in the place where people normally live.

I mostly only know what I have been told, since I was well down in the Wilderness by the time the first of the ants turned up. But [pause, an ink drop or two as she considers just how much she wants to scare this poor woman.

...oh well. Lady will no doubt hear about it eventually, may as well tell her now.] I have heard that the ants are twelve feet long, venomous, and tend to favour people over any other food source.

[The writing is suddenly very shaky.] Really? Are we safe here, though? I haven't seen any yet but...

Hi there, Lady! I'm Cara. What do you mean by customs?

Like Fred said [arrow up to her comment] jobs are sort of on hold just now, but it is good to think about.

It's nice to meet you, Cara. I suppose [a pause] things people normally do? What this place is usually like, maybe?

Right! I'm not sure what there is available, so I want to be prepared when I can work!

Well--the place itself is pretty odd, though I think that's easy to guess. For the most part, people here are usually nice which helps a lot. We kind of have to take things as they come, because there's no knowing what's going to happen tomorrow.

It'll help to think about what you might enjoy doing, but it'll be easier once we actually get to go back to business.

I see. It's good the people are nice, at least. Thank you for that!

I'll try to figure out what I like, then! Do you know how long the ants will be around?

The 'customs,' you'll find, are as fickle as grass in the wind. The most you can do is prepare to be surprised.

Nonetheless, I bid you welcome. I am Reed.

I'll try my best to do that, then! Though everything seems surprising right now...

Thank you! It's nice to meet you, Reed.

You will make sense of it in time. The best advice is simply to keep an eye turned to the journals. People write aught and all on the tree's affairs herein.

I'll do that, thank you! [A somewhat long pause.] ...What does "aught" mean?

Trying your best is admirable, and one job you could do where you do your very best and make a lot of people happy is...

[Pause.]

Well, after these giant bugs decide to play fair or go away, the farm's a good place to start. The chickens and cows and such are very nice. I named a bunch of them, and they didn't seem to mind!

A farm? [A pause] That sounds really nice! Is that where you work?

I'm a farmhand, yeah. I tried to get a promotion, but they won't get over the whole Milking Incident. They even capitalized the letters to make it memorable! I'm famous around the farm, see, exploded machine or no! The cow's okay. She was just a little scared.

[Pause.]

Oh yeah, we haven't had too many newborns lately, and the guides never tell us anything. I'm Night!

[The writing's a bit shaky.] I see... That sounds kind of dangerous!

It's nice to meet you, Night.

I've looked around "Disenyland" a bit I suppose? I've found I'm not very good with maps, though, so I'm going to wait a while before going any further. What about you?
