Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? tall and toned. well-muscled.
2. How old is he? 17. probably bordering 18 at this point.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? he carries himself pretty well. you can't have a slouch and fight well.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? very, very fit. he works out and trains almost every day if he can. no illnesses and his only disability would be his hands...lessness, but that's not a factor anymore.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? very fluidly. he cares himself with a lot of pride so the way he moves is kind of lazily. casual and taking his time, but with sureness in his step.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? very attractive, as he'll tell you. and it's true. he's been called out repeatedly in canon for being pretty and good-looking. and he... thinks he's the most good-looking thing to walk the earth.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? light and slightly scarred, but only on his body. they're mostly thin cuts and whatnot that haven't healed.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. black and very nice for a boy. it's pretty soft but there's some courseness at the ends. thick and it varies in style. currently it's kind of longish and lazily slicked back.
9. What color are his eyes? baby blue.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? he tends to glow green. his eyes and his hands, mostly.
11. What are his chief tension centers? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. uhm, he tends to get tensest in his hands, actually. he likes to clench them a lot. not a lot of headaches since his telekinesis means he's trained... to avoid that.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? casual mostly. he likes shirts and jeans, but likes to look good. so it's normally well-coordinated and the shirts usually have some really frikkin' awesome design. if he dresses nice, it's normally collared shirts and casual suit jacket things. he has a decent taste in clothes.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? yyeah. his shirts are slim and accentuate his body, his jeans aren't ridiculously baggy. he's proud of his appearance so he's very comfortable. he has to run around in spandex uniforms all the time so of course.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? on the job, he wears a black and gold uniform. ssoo no.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? BOXAS.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? typical teenage boy voice?? no, it's probably deep but not ridiculously so. just a slightly lower pitch than average. it's very smooth... and.. idk. i'll get an example one day.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? average volume? his voice is kind of on the soft side and is very even. he doesn't stammer or stutter and his words are always purposeful. even when they're not.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? noooneee.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? just plain American English.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? IF HE HAD ANOTHER LANGUAGE, SURE.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? he's great at improvisation. especially if he can talk an entire cafeteria randomly into helping a friend who got arrested. rarely ever has to think about what he says.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? eloquent? goes with being a good improver. probably speaks really casually in normal circumstances, but being a leader means he has to be good with words.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? he's definitely more street-smart then he is book-smart. he's not super literate or nerdy or whatever like David, and he's not ridiculously bright, but he's smart enough to have tracked down Magneto on his own. he's just not a genius.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? he's all about making it up as he goes along. hey, it works for him.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? it's more like, "PUNCH FIRST, QUESTIONS LATER." so he goes with his gut. he's not a logical sort of person and practicality basically goes out the window for whatever he thinks... makes sense to him. it's complicated ajfkl.
4. What kind of education has the character had? high school education at most. and even then, not schooled well in it. too busy fighting off bad guys.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? he'd probably enjoy history some. Jules likes knowing about people and events that happened, so it'd probably be his forte. if he liked learning dates.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? uugh. probably an extrovert. even though he's not super social, he's charismatic and good with people. he's just not super talkative or whatever.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? MOOD SWINGS. those like crazy. he gets easily ticked off and pissed and he tends to range from angry to neutral almost all the time. even when he's supposed to get sad, he gets angry.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? he's pretty chill around new people, depending on who they are. he's not gonna be like, "GET AWAY" but he's not going to be in their face.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? act. he needs to do things first.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? fight times one million. even if it's not the smartest choice.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? his sense of humor... is bad. and not like, he laughs at everything or whatever. it's more like, he tends not to laugh a lot and the things he laughs at are rather mean. he has a bully humor. he laughs at sexual jokes. and he makes puns of his own lack of hands. not... great sense of humor.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? PTSD, if anything.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? AAAAAA NO. okay, M-Day. got rid of all his childish ideals of being a hero and blah blah blah. and made him realize that the world fucking sucks. the moment right after Quest for Magick. when he realizes that he'll never win and that there's no point in trying except to survive. anddd when he loses his hands. when he learns that everything will always go wrong for him. and that he only needs to care about himself.
14. What does he fear? losing. in every sense of the word. losing himself, losing the people close to him, losing to humanity, his life, etc.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? mutants being able to live among humans, if not better than them. that his life can return to normal, and that sofia will come back to him one day.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? that he almost cried when he discovered that Sofia left.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. OH NOOO. okay uh. his relationship with his parents. is shit. at first it was pretty bad because he pretty much had to cause chaos just to get their attention and even then, they'd just ship him off somewhere to ignore him. it got worse when they found out he was a mutant and pretty much gave him away. and thhhheenn, they literally disinherited him. took him straight out of the will. and it went to hell after that. granted, he'd help them if they needed it, but they don't give a fuck about him so he doesn't either. and now that they literally up and moved when they found out he needed to return home instead of taking him back? they abandoned him so he's done with them.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? he has an older brother, James. it's pretty shaky between them and not much is said in canon except James is the golden child. so Jules probably seriously dislikes him and is frequently jealous.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? nope. his family sucks.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? the Helllioonss. he's close to all of them and they're pretty much more family than his actual family is. his best friend was Brian before he died and is currently Cess, who was his best chick friend and almost a sister to him. Santo was his best bro and Sooraya was like a younger sister he needed to take care of and protect. Kevin wasn't as close as the rest of them, but his relationship with him sort of extinguished when the guy bolted.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Briiiaaan. they met when they were both put into the Hellions training squad and were made roommates. even after Brian was killed, he's still considered Jules' best friend and brother.
canon says that currently, his best friend is Laura though. honestly, it's probably just Liu pushing them together.
6. Does he have other close friends? THE HELLIONS. C'MON. see 4. Laura who's supposed to be his "best friend" and... that's about it, honestly. he doesn't have a lot of good friends. oho trust issues.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? canon says he makes friends easily, but he's also supposed to be really charismatic. currently? not so much. he has awful trust issues.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? friends.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? ssiiingglee. LMFAO NEVER MARRIED.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? ... he's not... married?
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? first crush was Sofia Mantega who he pretty much fell in love with and she then broke his heart. latest crush is Laura Kinney though he's afraid to admit it because, well. she scares the shit out of him. but he can't stop thinking about her.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? nice body. must be hot. other than that, he doesn't look for romantic partners. but they have to at least not annoy the crap out of him?
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? WHAT IS THIS.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? pllleeentty. there's the New Mutants, especially Josh Foley who. Jules does not like. you have canon enemies that are way too much to list too... but none that really focus on him particularly.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? SO HETEROSEXUAL. so 0.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? loves sex. is a sex shark. he has no qualms with it and is unafraid to do it. he's known for one night stands and random flings, and even friends with benefits. it's not important to him per say, but he enjoys it and uses it as a distraction for everything else. also, girls are hot.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? uhhh. he's pretty much good for anything? idk. turn-ons... loves people playing with his hair during it and touching along his spine and the sides of his torso. which is weird but yeah ajfka. TURN-OFFS? talking. talking during sex. and weird shit. and he hates cuddling and it turning into something romantic when he doesn't want it to be. bedroom habits is that... he uses his TK a lot during sex.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? i do not.... i like to guess that he's an Aries though. can't guess Chinese since idk his year.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? nnneither. doesn't give a damn about that kind of stuff.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? he doesn't have much morals or ethics but he strongly does not believe in killing people, even if he can do it easily. he hangs around the lawful side of the line but his ethics are skewed enough that he's not afraid of hurting or bullying others for his entertainment. but he's still a good guy. just... anti-hero.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? indifferent. you can be what you want, just don't bother him about it.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? dislikes. humans. so much. it's pretty irrational to most people, but if you look at his canon, you can see why. he pretty much holds mutants higher than humans and thinks them as pretty awful people. he's not speciesist against them just yet, but he seriously does not like them.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? POOR LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS. he got disinherited from his family so he has no money, no job, no home.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? he used to be rich... now he's living in San Francisco with the rest of the mutants. so he's kind of a refugee. and now that his mutant-ness is public, his social status went from filthy popular to downhill.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? in a giant... building thing with the rest of the X-Men in San Franscisco. used to live on Utopia and before that, the Institute. and before that, a huge mansion. it's currently just a place for him to crash though, like the rest of the muties.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? whatever he wants, really. he hasn't learned how to keep himself from splurging since he's used to having bundles of money.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? HE'S AN X-MANNNN. which does not pay. so he doesn't have a job.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? it's mostly playing sports or working out or training. sports are really important to him and he likes to keep active and in shape. otherwise, it's training his powers or just playing video games or hanging out with his friends.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? all of the above? he tends to eat whenever he's hungry and he eats a lot. he doesn't eat out much since he's still not used to like, fast food and shit, but he's not particularly picky. just not used to it. he also drinks. not a lot, but whenever he's stressed, he hits the alcohol.
