Kay's been thoughtful and restless, since he suffered the effects of Molly Carpenter's spell. There's nothing wrong with him, not really, but he's been quieter than normal, and keeping to himself more. He still maintains the schedule, but he's discovered that there's now a cupboard with some magic in it, which means that the danger of anyone ( Read more... )

If a Guinevere is needed, she can be found, for once, outside, again with embroidery, but her stitching is much more sedate, much less manic. In other words, it is entirely normal, and her eyes are not as sad as they used to be. She is calm and can be easily approached.

And Kay would approach her, calm in his turn. Once he's close enough, he bows, etiquette suggesting a steward bowing to his queen, more than a brother respecting his sister-in-law. "Your majesty. Pardon the interruption, but may I have a word?"

She stands, inclines her head, calmly. She's done some thinking of her own, but she will listen first. Perhaps miraculously, little Guinevere is slowly growing up.

"As you bid, Sir Kay," she replies, formal as he is, but not closed.

"Please, sit, my lady." Kay is never gentle, but he's quiet today. "I would offer you my apologies."

For the time being, Faramir has been confined to the mansion by an overprotective brother, and, though he would prefer to be outside as much as possible, he will respect Boromir's wishes. He has visited the library and wandered aimlessly through the common rooms before finally ending up in the kitchen, drawn by his empty stomach.

But food has been forgotten entirely when faced with the tall, white cupboard. Not only is substantially colder inside of it, but a light also magically shines as soon as it opens.

He opens the door, then closes it, then opens it again, carefully inspecting the inside before closing it again and repeating the procedure. The cycle has been going on for the past few minutes with no sign of stopping in the near future.

Kay comes into the kitchen, carrying some of the jars of produce he's fetched from Peredur. He raises his eyebrow at the repeated tries. "It always does that."

Faramir nods, distracted. "I wish I knew why." After yet another inspection he closes it and turns to the man who addressed him. "I am newly arrived and the ways of this place are still strange to me."

He nods. "I figured magic, but I've been told that it's just from the future. Can't say it matters much either way, though it makes storing food a great deal easier."

"Ser Kay?" Lynette is downstairs to make Childermass' lunch, as she generally does, but stops when she sees him. He's kind of Hers in a really, really weird way.

He looks at her with a sideways smile. "...Lynette. Are you well?"

"Yes, ser." She watches him. "The box that gives food came back, ser."

No worries! Lag is fine.

He looks at her, raising an eyebrow. "More or less, I think. Do you know something I don't?"

"What do you mean? It has been long and long we've met, and then you confronted the demon... What should I know?"

Miss Glib.
