Windows Vista

Windows Vista is complete and utter crap. There is not a SINGLE advantage over using Windows XP. My laptop came pre-loaded with the awful operating system. My laptop has more RAM than my desktop, and is the same in every other respect except for the hard drive. My desktop can load windows XP in like..10 seconds. My laptop takes 15-20 minutes to ( Read more... )

I have yet to encounter a real pro. The only thing I've found I could call a pro is that one of the default display pictures is an old-timey robot (if that makes sense) with red eyes. So when my laptop boots up the first thing I see is a big root head asking for my password. XD

But it takes WAY too long to boot up...umm...it's basically XP, made slower and given a makeover. But almost all computers are probably gonna come with it now, and it would be more expensive to buy a copy of Windows XP if you don't already have one. I'd say if you end up getting Vista, get at LEAST a gigabyte of RAM on your machine.

that is not a pro. that is a very very scary con. the last thing i need is when im exhausted, in a state near delierium, to boot up my laptop at 4am and having a mean robot demanding my password from me. i would cry. and then call you and leave you a voicemail letting you know that what you told me 2 yrs ago was true. the robots really have come after me. and im scared. and then you'd laugh.

XDDDDD

...It's a pro for me...

But, like XP, there are lots of user pics to choose from. You would see whatever you chose demanding your password from you.

I don't know about WKU but Purdue has a 'copy shop' where we can send faxes and print things and the like. But they also sell legal versions of software at a discounted student rate. Like I got Office for 10 bucks, it's sweet. You could try and look for something on campus, it would be your best bet. Good Luck!
