The weeks when TRC's on break suck.
I've given up writing anything involving Sakura for now. So instead have a fic so short it's practically a drabble (because anything that comes to me in the middle of the night while I'm suffering insomnia has to be made of awesome, right?).
title: More Questions Than Answers
fandom: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle
pairing: Kurogane/Fai
words: 175
warning: not set in any particular world, and there aren't really any spoilers, though I think it's a little pointless (and senseless) if you haven't read to chapter 158. Also, first thing I've written completed in three months.

40baisers theme #38: cry
The mage has nightmares.
Somehow, you're a little surprised to learn this. His self-control is so rigid during his waking hours that you suppose you always assumed it would be no different while he sleeps.
But you can feel his body shaking against yours. You can hear his irregular breath - even muffled by the pillow, though only if you hold your own. You can see the tears running down his cheeks to the bedding.
You move to wake him, because while it is novel to see him acting like a human being, you're not so cold as to leave him to suffer whatever horrors his own mind has conjured. But your fingers barely brush his arm before he jerks awake, shouting his own name in fear and desperation.
He doesn't explain it to you. Not when he's still half-asleep and shaking. Not when he's calm and in control of himself again. And you wonder how it is that every time you learn something new about him, the discovery brings with it a myriad new questions.
