Give me marks out of ten for the clothes that I wear

It's been quite a damn while since i've updated this thing. So here goes. The text outside of the cut, by the bye, is from the song books for girls by Camera Obscura. Who just happen to have been tapped as the successors to Belle and Sebastion. I learned that from Jennifer. You know, I was going to not talk much about her in this entry, but well, I can't really say much about myself at this point in time without speaking of her as well.

Now that I've said that, I can't really think of much to say about her at the moment. So, be prepared to read comments interspersed throughout this entry; like so much crumbled bread tossed to the pigeons in front of the maple tree at the park.

So, books. I've been reading quite a bit, lately. The Aeneid, I'm on book 11. It's been pretty slow going since book seven. Everytime Virgil calls upon this or that goddess to hear the words he proclaims, I know I'm in for a bore. But in between the so-and-so slayed so-and-so, who was the son of so-and-so, the ruler of such-and-such... sections, it's quite enjoyable. Finally started The Quiet American. I love Graham Greene; It's great that he wrote so many books that deal with the same idea, in the same way, without simply writing the same book over and over. It's as if each book is a different chapter from the same story. The Secret History again. Not much I can say about that one. But I might anyways, later. Out of The Silent Planet and Perelanda, books one and two of a trilogy by C.S. Lewis. Good stuff. The end of Perelandra is a bit heavy with Lewis' beliefs (opinions, ideas, theology, propoganda, whatever), but it doesn't wiegh down the story. It's interesting that Christians attack C.S. Lewis for being a heretic (really, the idea that God is an alien and not a supernatural diety is a bit heterodox), while un-christians attack him for advancing a religious policy masqueraded as childrens stories. It makes me laugh; I wish that I could talk to Mr. Lewis about it, see what his intention for the stories was. Also, Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat in Latin. That is, Virent ova! Viret Perna! and Cattus Peteratus. My latin, though, isn't quite up to the task. I mean, I'm only on second declension neuter nouns in Wheelock's. I barely figured out how Virent ova, viret perna worked out as green eggs and ham. But I've got it now, thanks.

So, latin. It's fucking rock. Or Latina regit. I think. Reg- being a third conjugation (irregular bastards) verb meaning 'to rule'. Doing some quick reference work here, I've found that both 'regal' and 'anorexia' are dervitives of reg-. Hmm.

Oh, this can't go on. I think I'm done for. What can I say, I don't have much stamina. Maybe I'll update a bit more regularly in the future. I've learned of myself lately that I'm a strangely regular person. Regularly dissapointing. As far as spelling goes, anyways. Or ending.

I disappoint you
I can't see through your perfect smile
