The Appleby scene as a whole is my favourite and Jack who should be the village idiot makes me laugh at Santana's wit.
Although, I feel like "bug-eyed baboon" should have another meaning.
I also like "pop goes the weasel" so that made the funeral scene less angsty.
The details about each of the characters in the narration works well but Santana and her wit is my favourite.
I feel as though I should savour this bit of their youth before things get complicated, lol.

And yes, you definitely should. Although really, their youth is fairly complicated too, no? lol
But yes, things for the girls certainly get even more complex as they get older.

I suppose so, but they think they know it all. I can't imagine Santana will be quite as sure once she hits her gay crisis.

I said to you already and I shall say again. Amazing!!!
This was so perfect in every way. The style is brilliant and the story has my heart.
Really looking forward for the next parts.
Now start writing woman!

Thank you so much!
Kash really is the fic whisperer. I couldn't do it without her.
I shall get moving with Part Two: Set as soon as I get over the shock that people actually like this, lol

But seriously, thank you for being there every step of the way. Kicking my ass when I needed it and dragging this story forcefully out of me.
Now let's both take a deserved breather from this monster before facing the demon of Part Two.

Yw anytime. I'm assuming that this page answers the question, "Why the hell should I keep on writing?" so I'll have people's disappointment to guilt-trip you with the next time you want to chuck this fic :D
How long is this breather? I give you until Tuesday. Wednesday, back to work. Because, you know, how long did Part One take again? ;P

I am like Tinkerbell, I need applause to live
Bloody hell. So soon? Fine. Wednesday, then we can go on that lovely journey to hell and back again, haha

I've obviously changed a lot of what happens, but some scenes are the same. Do tell me what you think after you've read it, I'd love to hear your perspective as someone who knows the film.

/sidetracked.
Anyway! I shall let you know! I might need to re-watch the movie. I haven't thought about it in a long time.

Quinn is my Sophie and Santana is Julien. I decided to have my fic end completely differently though, because however beautifully tragic the original film is, that is a level of angst not even I shall stoop to, lol. I love me some angst, but I also enjoy a happy ending. But no more on that, before I spoil it for you ;)

I think Quinn is obsessed with perfect image, its part of her transformation from Lucy to Quinn. Appearances to her are certainly everything, and its definitely something we shall be returning to later...
The friendship between Quinn and Santana in the show fascinates me. They are both so close, and yet, they have such a power dynamic. They push and pull at one another constantly. I really wanted to explore that in this fic, I'm glad you like their friendship so far, it gets even more complex in the next part!
Papi Lopez... that scene was so hard for me to write, but its also the scene I am most proud of. Can I be both sorry and pleased that it made you cry?
I shall get on with writing Part Two as soon as I get over the shock of the tremendous responses I have received. I am floored. Or until Kash starts kicking my ass again

Yes their friendship has always been almost like an always changing, living, breathing animal. With their power dami, like you said. I also liked how Quinn was daring to make Santana proud. I can't wait to see the complexity you give them in the future.
You're timing was impeccable, killing the old guy. All I could think about was my grandpa vomitting his last night, in his easy chair, in his sitting room, while he was sleeping. Your words really did kill me, talking about the sitting room and the machines beeping and the cards and the flowers that are more for the mourners than the dead.
You deserve all the awesome responses, don't be shocked. :)
