First!

The Appleby scene as a whole is my favourite and Jack who should be the village idiot makes me laugh at Santana's wit.

Although, I feel like "bug-eyed baboon" should have another meaning.

I also like "pop goes the weasel" so that made the funeral scene less angsty.

The details about each of the characters in the narration works well but Santana and her wit is my favourite.

I feel as though I should savour this bit of their youth before things get complicated, lol.

Singing 'Pop goes the weasel' at the funeral and making it a little less angsty was Quinn's motivation, so I'm glad it worked :)

And yes, you definitely should. Although really, their youth is fairly complicated too, no? lol
But yes, things for the girls certainly get even more complex as they get older.

I suppose so, but they think they know it all. I can't imagine Santana will be quite as sure once she hits her gay crisis.

Or when Quinn hits hers. I'm hoping it will be deliciously gritty.

Thank you so much!

Kash really is the fic whisperer. I couldn't do it without her.

I shall get moving with Part Two: Set as soon as I get over the shock that people actually like this, lol

I have a horrible confession to make: I can't bring myself to re-read Part One until a month has passed, or something. I feel like I've memorised every word, every line along with you, and it's like a baby we brought home from the hospital. It's going to take thirty days for the maternal instinct to kick in until thirty days have passed, and right now, it's all the resentment of the insane process of childbirth.Long story short and gross analogy aside, the fact that I am green to the gills with this fic is a testament to how fucking hard you worked on it, (nearly) every day, and hah! Hard work + ability = final payoff. Every argument, every screaming match, every fight over this fic has been absolutely worth it because its 7k words of really good, gruelling stuff from someone who was having issues writing 100 words of crackiness for a TEAM CHALLENGE worth POINTS. You did this with no incentive whatsoever, and say what you will about my epic levels of awesome, but the actual words and feels and ideas in this fic is ALL YOU, and it's ( ... )

My incentive was you not kicking my ass

But seriously, thank you for being there every step of the way. Kicking my ass when I needed it and dragging this story forcefully out of me.

Now let's both take a deserved breather from this monster before facing the demon of Part Two.

Ohhh Katy why didn't you tell me you were willing to work for peanuts?

Yw anytime. I'm assuming that this page answers the question, "Why the hell should I keep on writing?" so I'll have people's disappointment to guilt-trip you with the next time you want to chuck this fic :D

How long is this breather? I give you until Tuesday. Wednesday, back to work. Because, you know, how long did Part One take again? ;P

LOL, a long ass time. But hey, it was worth it right? Someone on tumblr said "Simply amazing story". SO PSYCHED.

I am like Tinkerbell, I need applause to live

Bloody hell. So soon? Fine. Wednesday, then we can go on that lovely journey to hell and back again, haha

You are the first person to tell me that they have ever seen that film, haha! Seriously, I've tried flailing about it to so many people and they have never even heard of it. It makes me sad. Such an awesome film. I hope I have done it some justice.

I've obviously changed a lot of what happens, but some scenes are the same. Do tell me what you think after you've read it, I'd love to hear your perspective as someone who knows the film.

Well it isn't very mainstream haha and all in French and I had to use subtitles. So it wasn't like I could multi-task while watching. 100% focused to read those subtitles~ Marion Cotillard is a flawless queen and after how popular Inception was, people should delve into her career history more, though! La Vie En Rose is also amazing.

/sidetracked.

Anyway! I shall let you know! I might need to re-watch the movie. I haven't thought about it in a long time.

I'm a total sucker for French films. And Marion Cotillard is superb in everything she does, pure talent.

Quinn is my Sophie and Santana is Julien. I decided to have my fic end completely differently though, because however beautifully tragic the original film is, that is a level of angst not even I shall stoop to, lol. I love me some angst, but I also enjoy a happy ending. But no more on that, before I spoil it for you ;)

Wow! That was amazing! I don't even know where to stsrt. I loved the gli, pses into their childhoods and home lives. Santana's relationship with her Papi was adorable. I love seeing when little girls actually have good relationships with their dads, as that is something I lack ( ... )

Oh wow! Thank you so much Mollie, your words have blown me away <333

I think Quinn is obsessed with perfect image, its part of her transformation from Lucy to Quinn. Appearances to her are certainly everything, and its definitely something we shall be returning to later...

The friendship between Quinn and Santana in the show fascinates me. They are both so close, and yet, they have such a power dynamic. They push and pull at one another constantly. I really wanted to explore that in this fic, I'm glad you like their friendship so far, it gets even more complex in the next part!

Papi Lopez... that scene was so hard for me to write, but its also the scene I am most proud of. Can I be both sorry and pleased that it made you cry?

I shall get on with writing Part Two as soon as I get over the shock of the tremendous responses I have received. I am floored. Or until Kash starts kicking my ass again

Yes, in the show it is very clear that appeatances beat all. And that that is posdibly an idea instilled in her by her family. I ferl it's one of the reasons being the pregnant teen hit her doubly hard. She couldn't pretend anymore. She had to face all the harsh realities very qukly and wainda ill prepared for the moment.

Yes their friendship has always been almost like an always changing, living, breathing animal. With their power dami, like you said. I also liked how Quinn was daring to make Santana proud. I can't wait to see the complexity you give them in the future.

You're timing was impeccable, killing the old guy. All I could think about was my grandpa vomitting his last night, in his easy chair, in his sitting room, while he was sleeping. Your words really did kill me, talking about the sitting room and the machines beeping and the cards and the flowers that are more for the mourners than the dead.

You deserve all the awesome responses, don't be shocked. :)
