I agree with him. The Democrats didn't do what they said they were going to do. BUT they didn't have much of a chance to get it passed. They didn't have the votes in Congress to overthrow a veto by Bush so their hands were tied... just as I suspected they would be. I put all the blame on Bush and his cronies. And while I'm glad that Edwards came out and said something about Bush and how he's handling the war, I don't think anyone is standing up to Bush enough. It's a big ol' mess that going to take years to fix hopefully by someone who isn't for the war and someone who can turn our hate monger reputation around... or lessen it somewhat.
I know that if we had to sacrafice some days off of work and protest or something, would everyone do it? No one seems to want to do anything they want to live life as if it's just going to go away and you know that's got bad consequences. I think what Bush has done since he's been in office has been so damaging that it's not as if anyone can just clean it up over night, this is going to have an effect on the country for a long time.

Republican are too chicken to stand up and go against him and against the Republican party and be honest about their feelings about the war so they are voting with Bush. That's why the likelihood of anything changing before 2009 is slim unless everyone from the Republican party stands up to him. That's why he hasn't been impeached either. We can all be against the war but he's going to try his best to stay 'on course' as long as he can. I don't think the American name has been dragged through the mud enough, I guess. Although I think by now unmanageable things are being on beside the dragged.
