I will have enough time to post something good here, but for now I have to just say:

HI! I'm in Guatemala. My Spanish is getting better. I feel like I'm shirking some responsibilities, though.

Now I'm off to buy some spanish childrens' books.

Well you may feel that why right now,but remember your their to also make yourself more viable and more helpful in your chosen field.
Choosing to learn a new language especially one like spanish is a really responsible and intelligent thing to do. You know that your going to want to help people from different social and economic backgrounds,and in this country it could really help if you spoke a language shared by the very large and growing portion of the population that isn't white bread middle america.
Of course you know this already, you always been a pretty smart cookie ;)
