[Hello, Holloway's! Lily here with her second video post. Videos are a million times easier to do than text posts! Lily can't write for shit. That much is obvious.

Anyway, Lily is outside. Grass and flowers and topiary sculptures, oh my! She looks pretty happy. There is some intense nature going on in the background, being beautiful and all.Hi, it ( Read more... )

[An advantage of writing is that Equius can properly draw out his little bows and arrows.]

D --> Why would you invest so much admiration in such f001ish little sprouts
D --> Perhaps if plant life actually did anything notable, they would be acknowledged

[More numbers in words! What's with these people?]

i think they are prety. they do not have to do any thing to be prety.

[Eugh, Equius still is not liking the color of this ink.]

D --> I do not see any beauty in such flimsy foliage
D --> Wouldn't you rather admire the staggering might of a musclebeast
D --> The pulsing muscles of a hoofbeast stir up much more emotion than a simple, stationary plant

[Just thinking of it works up a sweat.]

[Wha-...]

D --> How can you have not heard of the glorious and majestic musclebeast
D --> Don't tell me your world is unfortunate enough not to even have images of such beautiful creations
D --> This is unacceptable
D --> Wait
D --> I will show you

[The following is a crude sketch of a half VERY MUSCULAR HORSE and half VERY MUSCULAR MAN with VERY MUSCULAR HORSE FEATURES oh god equius what in gods name is this. why does it have 20 abs and biceps on top of biceps.]

D --> A noble troll must partake in all forms of alternian artistic interests

[Oh my god what is that thing. Lily's having some flashbacks to the "old models", which were pretty buff. She just sort of looks away.]

Heyyy, can we talk? Out loud? Because writing... I'm really not good at it.

[Now that THAT'S out of the way...]

I'm not sure my world had those things. I'm sorry, Eq... Equ... [The fuck do you pronounce that?] ... Uh, I'm sorry.

[Wait. She re-reads this note.]

Oh, are you a troll? Like Sollux?

D --> Isn't it glorious
D --> What
D --> But my quirk

[HUFF. The audio clicks on to a rather huffy and fancy sounding troll.]

Very well, then. Yes, humans don't seem to be very good at communicating through text. Most hardly even understand the most basic typing mannerisms...

[There's a dissatisfied growl as she tries to pronounce his name.]

Eck-Wee-Us. Equius... And yes, I suppose if you consider Sollux a proper troll.

[HOPE YOU HEAR THAT, MUSTARDJERK.]

Unfortunate that you could not admire an actual musclebeast. They are much more majestic in reality.

Eck-wee-us. Equius. Got it!

[She doesn't got it.

Equius talks weird. He sounds really... regal? Is that the right word? Some of the scientists sounded that way. Kinda high-and-mighty.]

Aren't there any, uh, any musclebeasts here?

Unfortunately, no. None of flesh and bone. It's sad, though some hoofbeasts and residents are rather mighty. I've yet to properly test my strength against one, but hope to soon.

[He pauses.]

If there are no musclebeasts in your world, what is it that you strive to be equal to? To look up to? What do you use as a reference to how STRONG one must be?

Uh. We didn't really look up to anything? Me and my siblings, I mean. Basically, we had to be able to defeat these things called the old models, which were these huge monsters. So, if we could do that, we were totally set.

[THE FUCKING OLD MODELS...]

...Really?

[He pauses, to think.]

Did you defeat any of them? These "huge monsters"? I used to spar with machines but those were generally the same height as me. How big were these models?

[Color Equius interested. Lily doesn't SOUND like she would lift boulders and trees and punch monsters to death?]

[ audio ] unit_67 October 1 2011, 00:02:44 UTC
Oh, I defeated lots of them. More than everyone else.

[Lily is legitimately not sure if she should be proud of that. On one hand, she abhors violence, but on the other... She was the best. Serious conflicting feelings here!]

Umm, they were big. I'm really bad at estimating height and stuff, but maybeee... Three, three and a half meters? Tall? Here, wait.

[Here is a crude drawing. Lily is represented by a stick figure with "ME" written beside it. The old model ("MODEL") is a bulky thing next to her a little less than three times her size.]

Sorry it's so terrible.

Really now...

[Beads of sweat begin to gather on the troll's skin. Is it warm in this room? Stuffy, for a place with no heat. Equius' face feels a bit hot.]

I am not familiar with human measurements- oh.

[His eyes widen a bit as he sees the drawing. Oh my.]

I see... What? Oh- no no it is not terrible. Not at all.

Really? I think it's pretty terrible, and totally scary.

[Lily looks at her drawing and frowns. Maybe she should have added more detail? The creepy mask might have added 10 points to the scary factor.]

But I don't have to fight them anymore, so that's good. Honestly, if I never see one again, I'll be happy.

[His voice jumps a bit, beginning to sound a bit flustered.]

No! No it's marvelous. You've defeated beasts of that magnitude? I mean I have but would never have expected a human to actually come close to such feats of strength. It's really quite good. I-...

[He pauses, trying to slow down his rate of talking.]

I think we began on the wrong foot here. A-Ahem. I am Equius Zahhak. May I be so lucky as to know your name?

[Equius. No. What are you saying? You're not acting like yourself. This is a redblood like any other.]

What is your name, I mean.

[There. That was much more commanding.]

[This guy is WEIIIIIIIIIRD. It's charming, in some way. Lily didn't know normal (ish) people were so diverse!]

I'm Lily. It's nice to meet you, Equius. Did I say that right?
