TR RP: In the TARDIS looking for the wardrobe room with sortofaman

May 29, 2009 16:19

There were generally two places it was best to start looking for the Doctor: the TARDIS and the Treehouse. Although there were no guarantees he would be at either of them and there was a whole island to search. So Jo removed all doubt and wrote the Doctor a note, asking him to meet her at the TARDIS ( Read more... )

The Doctor had heard, of course, the proximity alarm going off like a tornado siren (and he would have to have words with Jack about that). He was far enough back in the corridors that it took him five minutes to jog back, having been lost in his own sort of reverie about boxes.

Opening the door, he didn't realise Jo's back was up against it, and he startled. "Jo! Terribly sorry."

When the door opened Jo fell through it and ended up flat on her back in the doorway. She grinned up at the Doctor. "Doctor!" she greeted him, before jumping up to face him. "I promised Chase I'd find him something nice from the wardrobe room," she said, explaining why she'd wanted to meet him in the first place. "And I thought you'd know what he liked and maybe you can find the wardrobe room better than me."

She hadn't thought for a minute that he'd not want to, but now, looking at this Doctor, who she didn't really know as well as the one at home, she wondered for a moment if she'd still be able to get him to do as she asked.

The Doctor looked a bit horrified, but since Jo seemed none the worse for wear, even perhaps cheerful, he offered her a hand up and considered what she was saying. It took him a moment more than he would have liked to segue out of being startled and into actual action...human. Getting old.

"Of course," he said, "though what Chase thinks of as 'nice' and what you and I might...well, that remains to be seen. But we can certainly have a look, come along."

"If we give him the choice between what we choose and what he's got now he might choose what we think is nice. You just have to convince him he looks good in it." She didn't think that should be hard - or rather it wouldn't if she did it, she wasn't sure about the Doctor's abilities in that area.

She stepped inside the TARDIS and was prepared to follow him to the wardrobe room, since she hadn't been able to find it. "How are you?" she asked. "Chase was worried about you."
