TR RP: Girly night at the strip club

Jun 19, 2009 09:28

Jo had been secretly curious about what went on upstairs at the Catscratch Club since it opened, if not curious enough to go on her own. But being in a group of people meant they were bound to have a good time. Okay, so they'd all have to pay for it, but at least once they were inside the drinks were free, the music was good and the strippers were ( Read more... )

Jo had dressed up for the occasion in a short skirt and sparkling top, which was perfectly party like. She took a sip of her sugary, fruity, alcoholic drink and made her way closer to the front to get a better view of the dancer currently on stage. Someone wolf-whistled on the other side of the room and and giggled. He was pretty good at this, but she supposed they'd all had plenty of practise now that the club had been open a while. And she had to agree, he was quite sexy.

It was odd, but Sally didn't have many female friends (though, it wasn't entirely odd if you thought about the way she judged those friends and the way sometimes it accidentally slipped and turned into an out-loud judging). So when she saw this little soirée, she couldn't help attending.

"Do you think they're at all straight?" she asked the woman near her, of the strippers.

"I hope so," she replied with a sigh. Okay, so you couldn't touch the strippers while they were stripping, but what would be the point of having male strippers who were gay? "But I bet they're not. All the best ones are either taken or gay." Or lived on another planet, not that that was a problem here.

"And in this place, it's as if they were just waiting to be gay," she said, clearly disgruntled with the manner of relationships that she'd witnessed. "Well, that or commitment-phobic, but that's just as bad," she said haughtily, echoing Jane's stance on certain things.

Terry would blame this one on Mary Jane for mentioning the whole girls night out idea upstairs, though it isn't as though she needs any reason for it. Especially not when half of them seemed bloody reluctant to head on upstairs after Mary Jane's set. Convincing them to go along was half the fun, after all.

A table was comandeered, drinks brought around for those that did drink, and though the half-naked dancing men aren't the real appeal to doing this, Terry lets out a wolf whistle at the end of one bloke's set anyway.

Everyone needs a little fun every now and again.

Meredith's never needed convincing. Drinks, a night out with women she actually knows and the slight bonus of guys dancing around barely dressed make for a combination she's not about to turn down. For the first time since she's arrived on the island, actually, it kind of feels like old times.

Nursing a drink, she shoots a grin at Terry. "Well, I think this was a good idea."

"Course it was," Terry agrees. She may look like she's drunk a bit, the way she's grinning and the bit of flush to her cheeks, but she's found over the years that she never needs alcohol for it.

An almost mischievous look crosses Terry's face as she looks around the club, taking everything in, then she turns back to Meredith. "What d'ye say we buy someone a lap dance?"

Meredith glances to the stage and laughs, looking back at the other women around the table. Of the set assembled, Terry's the one she knows best, but the faces are familiar ones, if only in passing. That's kind of the strange part - not just that it feels more like life before, but that this little group's sprung up so suddenly, so easily.

"I say definitely," she says, nodding, grinning. "The question being, who for? Mary Jane?"

Nessa had come here quite often. Julian performed here every week and she loved seeing him dance and have fun. And of course, she rather enjoyed herself seeing other young men move so wonderfully to such peculiar music.

She still would want to come here with a sketch-book.

Tonight, however, it was ladies night! She sat down at a table with a drink in her hand and looked over the crowd with a smile on her face.

Abby was completely familiar with the strip club, what with being a bartender there, but still, girly night could be fun. She didn't actually get to look at the strippers too much when she was working because she was, well, too busy working. Funny how Helen and Warrick expected that of their employees. Plus, Jo had invited her, and Abby really liked Jo. She was a good worker and a nifty person.

She couldn't remember the last time she had a girly night. It had probably been back in DC. Maybe the spa day with Kate? Thinking about that made her sort of sad, but she pushed it aside. Vodka, semi-naked men, and fun conversation. That was the point of this, not remembering coworkers who'd passed on.

It was pretty good vodka, even.

"Hello." Jo grinned at Abby. Of all the people who had come Abby was the one Jo knew best. Possibly she didn't know enough of the right sort of girls. Not that it made any difference to how much fun she was having anyway.

"So you must know which are the best looking strippers here." So far she hadn't seen any ugly ones - and she couldn't imagine there were any ugly men would volunteer to strip anyway.

ooc: Don't whatever you do tell Jo that Julian strips - she's going to get a shock when she sees him

"Hey Jo!" Abby said very cheerfully, and not because of the vodka. Okay, mostly not because of the vodka. She was a better drinker than that. Timmy, now that was a different story. She'd never be making him another backdraft, no way.

"There are some pretty good looking ones, but I'm personally fond of Spike, the bleached blonde. Dick Grayson's good too, but sometimes he's a little too acrobatic for my tastes. It's a strip club, not Cirque du Soleil."

"I'll look out for them." She was here to see the men after all, and not just drink and chat. And someone acrobatic sounded interesting and different from just dancing and stripping. "What's Cirque du Soleil?"
