Reading my friends list this morning, I saw one post that immediately made me think of responding with lines from Max Ehrmann's famous poem.

And then I saw another.

And another.

And I realized that I could use a reminder, myself.

The parody is funny and well-done, particularly since it's poking more fun at the Les Crane recording than the Ehrmann original. Frankly, I heard the parody before I ever read the Desiderata proper -- and never heard the "hit" record until today, whilst prowling YouTube for exactly that purpose.

I've just found, over the years, that every time I post this, someone immediately comments with the National Lampoon version, and thinks they're being very clever and original by doing so.

Just as well they weren't in Europe at this time...
