Yeah, crazy day yesterday. Oh man.
Thursday night, I'd fallen asleep after a brutal workout with the team...so I never got my work done...
Then I woke up, took a super short shower, got all my stuff ready for
the big day, and ran out. I stood outside for about 5 minutes, and my
hair froze. Not so cool, y'know? So I packed myself in the corner of
the car, which was ok.
I got there and then ran into Vose, to put all my crap away. Then I ran
to breakfast, where I grabbed a bagel, and ran back in time to get my
stuff, and sprint down the hollow-hill and into the CAC building to my
Precalc class.
Yeah, being late on Family Week is BAD. But I got there alright. I
spaced out really badly during class, so Mr. Greenlee was nice about it
all, and told me to email him on Cushnet, so he could send me the notes
from the day.
Yeah, he's awesome.
Then to Aquatics, where Mr. Ahn was an ass about my clothing, and being
in dress code. (which I was in!) On the way, I passed Ian and his dad
and I said hi. So, we worked on our bacterial experimentation on oil
slicks in the lab, and then went along our merry way. Yeah, I love prep
school for it's money. Not how much I pay, but how much is in the
budget. We have all new microscopes and ditrious equipment and
everything. Amazing.
After that, I ran up to the chapel, to get to chorus rehersal. It was
ok, except for the fact that Ian's parents were there too, two of the 7
that was there watching us. So I did my solo with them there. But
Martini's mom was there too, which was cool. So I sang the solo, and
all was okay. Mr Dudensing is a pretty cool guy, I established, and
this piano playing skills are amazing
.
Then it was assembly, which was boring as usual. But Headmaster was all
professional about the whole affair, which was unusual...
I went to lunch next, where I ate yummy "grill day" stuff. After
scarfing the stuff down, I decided to go back to the lounge and attempt
get my physics done.
Hah, then I worked on my powerpoint for Mr. Clarke. It was supposed to
be done wednesday night, but yeah, I was working on it Friday midday. I
ended up putting more custom animation into it, and making my
bibliography, which wasn't too much work. I love making things burn.
Expecially digitally. :-D Paz liked it too. I reviewed the whole thing
for Natasha and people, and they approved.
Then to Physics, where mr. Kublbeck was being all weird. As usual. He's just the coolest guy, period.
American Studies was crazy. I was late, after giving advice to someone
in the locker room as I was getting my laptop. So I got there and there
were no chairs. That was OK, because I sat in the little corner in the
wall, and I didn't have to watch the damn presentations. Andrea was
really nice about it, and she took notes for me. XD I, in the
meantime, e-mailed some people. I'm horrible. To make up for the fact
that I didn't participate in class AT ALL, I talked to "Sooz" after
class about the fact that I caught an underlying meaning for part of
Hawthorne's book. It was awesome. She loved it.
Then to practice, which wasn't too bad. Not too much running. But Justine FLIPPED OUT at coach. She literally screamed at her. Insane.
Then, after the parents and Jim came, and after meeting Ian's parents,
I went to dinner with them all, where we ate really goos food. They
obviously go overboard when the parents visit, so we had salmon, roast
and chicken, as well as a billion other things, while a fire roared in
the big fireplace. Crazy. Iris came over and met the folks, which she
loved. Then back to change.
After the whole "changing" ordeal, Iris had told me I looked like a bear, I'd told Ian that he looked like a tree. Good times.
Performance went well, and the solo was okay. I couldn't stop shaking
after I sang it though. Never happened before. Strange. When I stepped
off stage, Potthoff gave me a hug, Iris have me a huge smile and
Natasha told me I sounded really good. I guess it's a good sign, right?
Then, after Ian decided not to say Hi to my parents because, I quote "
I'd introduce myself to your parents, except they might think that I'm
insane", I went home.
Yeah, after all that had happened, I think managed to make up for the large amounts
of stress with the fact that when my parents went to meet my teachers,
I got raving reviews back. I also finally got that recognition of
my working hard that I wanted. I guess I just need to hear it more from
them. Ah well. I love all of my teachers, so all is good.
Now I think I will go and watch a movie, so I can head out to dinner with the family later. Oh yeah.
I love you. Only another month.
