And no small number of the citizenry, I'm sure.

I must admit there are a few individuals that joined in the...ah...mission who deserved the results.

If they were part of such a stunt voluntarily, they were asking for it.

On the barrier charge.

Anyone who took those bets wouldn't be worth the money they lost anyway. But you'd be pretty well off, I guess. Too bad.

Agreed on all three points. Though with all the different kinds of people here, I'm surprised there wasn't a betting pool going on.

The Joker... let's see how I can best put this.

The Joker is terrifying. There's no other way to put it. Human strength, human agility, no superhuman or magical abilities of any kind, save for an immunity to his own Joker toxin.

I would rate him as possibly the most dangerous individual on the planet.

It's hard to explain, but I think I said something to the effect recently regarding the poison attacks.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

We've dealt with someone like that before. It ... wasn't fun.

I have an idea of what the answer to this next question will be, but ... is there any effective method of dealing with him?

Understand that there's no real victory to be had with him. Any victory will be, at best, Pyrrhic. You can't really beat him because he's in it for the experience of doing it. There won't be any satisfaction in victory, this time.

At best, you can stop him from hurting anyone else.

It really is Slade all over again.

So how do we do that?

Aw, Raven. That's... I mean, all of those people were just trying to get out.

I know, and believe me, I'd love for it to be as easy as charging at the barrier from multiple directions too.

Well, yeah. You don't have to make fun of 'em, though.

Should I offer condolences and encourage them to try again once their bones knit then?

Pain and terror are just lessons to warn the organism to be wary of similar behavior. From what I've seen, this place and its leaders are ...efficient tutors. I doubt they'll try that again.
