Although you must also note that the image still possesses shades of grey, unlike the images ive agrued as having far too high contrast.

ih by interpret you mean find meaning behind, I totally did it./

so the wood symbplizes structure and safety, but the realization that it doesn't last forever. and some of this is shown in the piece of paper the person is holding. it is the pulp made from wood...think about it. and as for only having the boys head slightly revealed shows that the bperson is almost ready to make this realization about the structure of his life, however holds back so as not to be completely hurt.

That is a very good interpretation, thank you.. I suppose I made the picture too dark though, because that isnt a boy, it is Emily.

You have to be a REAL artist to understand these types of things. He took this picture with the vision of conveying to humans a message. A very strong and powerful message about the future of mankind, metaphorically wrapped up in this simple "picture," as you may call it. It's genius.

So... I could take a picture of an empty can of soup, and say something like "It's portraying the simplicity and emptiness of the world" and everyone would call it genius?

I don't understand how you post-modern "artists" think.

And secondly, I was being sarcastic. Seeing as I am an artist of sorts, I think I could easily bullshit some sort of symbolism out of that picture, I just don't feel like it.

Now that I think of it, an 'empty can of soup' makes no sense. It'd actually just be an empty can.
