Photos: Angkor Wat, Khmer architecture

For those out of the loop, I spent the last couple of weeks on holiday in Cambodia and Vietnam (with short stays in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur en route).

Naturally no visit to Cambodia is complete without a trip to Angkor Wat. Wat means temple in Khmer (Cambodian). Angkor Wat is a huge temple complex that was built in the 12th century at Angkor ( Read more... )

Oh i want to know all about this!! I am going on a South East Asia holiday in September. Staying in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur. With day trips to Cambodia and Laos. What did you think of the places you went to? Any that disappointed you? What hotels did you stay at? price range?

I'm not sure how you can manage day trips to Cambodia from any of those places. By bus it will take several hours to get there (from Bangkok on the one side, or Hanoi on the other). You can fly from KL to Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, or Bangkok to Phnom Penh, but there's relatively few flights, I doubt you could find two in the one day. But then accommodation in Cambodia is cheap ( ... )
