So after going mental and trying to get everyone to drop their phones, Riku is luckily saved from being dumb by Joe and Clara. They take care of the kanshu while Riku goes "o right, Neene" and rushes off after fox-mask guy. He's gone and done something to Neene, and she's doing some wacky absorbing memory stuff, so Riku starts passing out. Then Rena shows up to save the day! Only somehow, Riku gets to see her memories.
The kicker is that there's nothing there. It's a black void.
So Riku acheives by fail what no one else gets by effort. THANKS RIKU, YOU'RE A HERO TO US ALL.
But then! Riku reflects on why he hates that smile of Rena's and is like "Well I'm kind of like your companion too... I mean, I told you everything about me..." And this is her response:
So he reflects, at the end of the chapter, how he was really just deceiving himself all along. Fail, Riku. Fail.
Also, Joe is fucking awesome, someone app him... when there's enough canon.
