There are some very cool comics coming to Nashville soon. Four I particularly want to see are Doug Stanhope, Demetri Martin, John Oliver, and Bill Maher. I've already bought my tickets for the first three, but am waiting on Maher, purely because he's the most expensive and the furthest in the future ( Read more... )

Thanks for posting this somewhere i check regularly. =) i might be able to make some of these! Although i'm quite wary of navigating through Nashville traffic on my own...

Excellent! Let me know who you'd like to see. Are you familiar with all of these comics? I'm sure you should know the later three, but do you know Doug Stanhope? If you have any interest in seeing his show, please check out clips of him on YouTube first. He is, imho, the most offensive living comic (RIP Bill Hicks and George Carlin) ... which is why I love him! But he's not for everyone, and I don't want to be given the evil eye for dragging anyone to a show they didn't like.

As far as traffic goes, we could meet up before any of these shows, and I'll drive. :-)

Ok, even if Doug Stanhope sounded like my kind of comic (he doesn't), i don't think i would be able to make the show. I might be able to make some of the latter three, though... first, i need permission and funds from my parents, god bless 'em. =) And my dad might like to join us for Bill Maher, though i'm not sure what i'll be doing that far in the future.

I'm giving you a tentative "yes" on Demetri Martin. Once i get that firmed up, i'll contact you through email and we can make concrete plans.

Ah, unless you've already bought a ticket, good luck with Demetri Martin. Last time I checked Ticketmaster, his show was sold out. But check it regularly in case folks cancel. And if I hear any chances to win tickets or anything, I'll let you know.

I haven't bought my ticket for Bill Maher yet, but worry about his cheaper tickets getting sold out soon too. I would *really* like to see him, though. Keep your fingers crossed we can go!
