take a chance, jump the fence
The last few days have been a lot of fun, which is an unexpected change.
Friday was smelissa wallace's birthday, i got to see a lot of people who make me happy who i don't usually see, which was awesome, we ate pastel cupcakes and celebrated her 21st with a beer or two (well, more than that for a few people there) then got bored and decided we should go on an adventure.
So with cj as our leader (although not so brave, he armed himself with a rosary and mag lite) thomas, melissa, adam, blake, nicci, rusty, mary, jamie and i park our cars and walk up the hill to jump the fence. Before we even get up the hill smell and adam puss out. Then before we even get in the door thomas and blake puss out. With only the brave left nicci, dish, jamie, and rusty jump through a side window and marv and i find an open door.
I can't even explain how excited i am about this place, we found old chairs, old books, classroom maps of states and countries, christmas decorations, a coffin, a birdcage and this was just on the small section of the first floor we explored. And there's 3 floors and a basement left.
We left after only 1/2 an hour with maps of north dakota, west virginia, oklahoma, texas, and eastern europe, because cj is 5 and can't hold his bowel movements.
I'm determined to go back soon though. To be honest, i'm sort of selfish and hope a lot of people don't start going there because it's been a small obsession of mine since high school that i'm just now unlocking the secrets to.
After that i took care of a sick claud and a drunk mary. Then rusty, mary, and i drove to ihop at 4:30 in the morning which is always entertaining.
Then i dropped everyone off and went back to my apartment and took a shower and waited for 6:30 to roll around so i could go to work.
That's right, i didn't sleep.
After work i rushed and bought a wedding present for this wedding shower thomas and had to go to in the OB that night. I slept pretty much all the way there, at thomas' house after the party, and all the way home. Thomas wouldn't let me drive sepretely there because he thought i would fall asleep at the wheel. So after he dropped me off he drove straight back to orangeburg. I'm the worst person to travel with. Really.
After that i slept like a rock until 6:30 this morning for work. Then i found out since i work at starbucks i get 20% off urban nirvana (a spa right next to my store) so since i had a crazy week, and i haven't spent any money on myself in forever i got a hot stone massage for half an hour.
My life stopped and started again within that 1/2 hour i swear. It was that amazing and life altering. Really.
After that i floated out to my car and drove home with the windows down listening to Sam Cooke and next i'm going to see million dollar baby with my loving mother and give smelly a giant birthday hug.
And really, after a week like this, who knows what i'll be doing next.
