Family isn't about whose blood you have. It's about who you care about. -Trey Parker and Matt Stone

She spent the days while Emmett and Jasper were recovering pacing the hotel room in between sitting at their bedsides. They each took breaks. Carlisle urged them to take breaks to clear their heads. The more she was in the room the angrier she got. Watching her husband and her brother pretend as if the wounds were not severe made her growl with frustration and anger.

"Carlisle says we can move them tomorrow," Edward informed her on one of their shared breaks. She nodded her head, but kept her eyes on the parking lot. There were a group of teenagers partying together. Security would be called soon.

"How long will you stay?" She finally asked.

"Until we clean up this army that attacked them."

"You're a fool."

"Am I?"

She gripped him by the arm and forced him to look at her. He looked just as angry and frustrated as she did. Perhaps this was why they were never meant to be mates. Two sides of the same stubborn coin.

"We're your family." And they were. It didn't matter if they shared blood. Of course they did, in a sense, as they were vampires, but at the core they were a family because they loved each other. They would die for each other. "You are not helping her by staying away."

"You don't like her anyway."

"She's moved on."

He glared at her and walked away. He was a fool, but he was her fool. They were family after all.
