I believe, most of us have moved on, either to other fandoms, or grew up (grew older, or old, whatever, I am nearly fourty, no judgement here, and its true, I have been that last 8 years more busy with job, career, stocks, shares, funds, mortgages and whatsever adult stuff, while never gave up reading fanfics, i stopped being active on LJ or ( Read more... )

Not I! But I miss the glory days, too. :) My hope is that the new films will not only provide all sorts of new ideas for exploring/slashing/writing/talking about new characters, but will also perhaps inspire new ways of looking at the characters from the first 6 SW films. :)

Not sure how this can be achieved, however, with LJ so dormant these days.

like i said, most of us had gone far, and time changes even the most devoted fans :D
maybe if the upcoming movies will have at least some character with connections or family ties to palpatine, that might help!
but you are right, LJ isnt the same place it was 10 years ago, and i am surely not able to follow the youngster into tumblr. May the dark side of the force and fun be with them there though :D

I hope that too -- I hope that it makes people go back and watch the first 6 movies and get inspired... although more of the inspiration will now come from the OT than the PT when they do that.

i am partially with you, but then, as I said above to luminations, it has lots to do with the casting.
no way, a 60+ old with a 20+ old will be something majorly fannish no matter what decade the movie would have come out.
now if they had made palpatine back then with a much younger actor, close to Christian's hayden's age, that would have turned the tide to us.

there is actually really at least 2 or 3 kylo/snoke fics that i saw on ao3.
but urggg snoke is about the same level as gollum or voldemort. it could be done, but any fanbase around them would likely be smaller than even our unlimitedpower com here XD

Yeah, it was totally me, like, months ago...I didn't spot this post because I haven't logged onto LJ for quite some time, and thanks to the interface screwing with me today, now I remember why :P BUT THIS COMM WILL LIVE FOREVER. I mostly lurked while I was on here, but I've been through the archives many times. Love you all <3

...Palpakin is kind of doing 'a thing' on AO3... The tag is slowly gaining ground. I've actually written some, too O_O There's new fic out there, guys!!

As for blogs, I moved to Dreamwidth (same username), once I jumped back into fandom, and realized that LJ wasn't what I remembered :(

But I remember unlimitede power...
