Wright: *it's early Thursday night at the Rusty Gust, and with Jake Marshall absent, Phoenix is the one manning the bar. He's got the cowboy hat on-- it's... really not that bad looking on him, he's attached his pin-camera to it. He's actually doing a lot better at mixing drinks for the various bar patrons than he ever was at playing the piano, laughing and conversing as he slides a glass over to a tall man in a pale green suit*
Klavier: *enters the Gust, his guitar strapped to his back and an amp in his arms. A large pile of cords and an electronic tuner rest on top of the amp, and he has to stop inside the doorway to readjust the pile. He catches sight of Maggey nearby* Ah- Maggey Fräulein -- little help.
Maggey: *looks up from the round table she is clearing off, before dropping her tray and rushing over to Klavier's side* Affirmative, sir! *saluting him quickly, she then reaches up to grab the cords and tuner from on top of the pile*
Wright: *notices Klavier's entrance but doesn't really acknowledge it -- there's the arrival of yet another regular right behind him, and that man heads to the counter to greet Phoenix, inquiring about his change in occupation and asking for 'the usual'. He heads off to one of the nearby tables after the chat, and Phoenix turns to the wall to start preparing a Gin and Tonic*
Klavier: *offers the woman a smile* Danke, danke. Help me bring these to the stage, ja? I need to start setting up. *he glances over to the bar; it's hard to tell with his sunglasses on but he's pretty sure that isn't Marshall working the bar tonight. He decides to investigate later, when he's not holding an amp*
Maggey: *nodding, she walks over to the stage and sets the things down on the front of it. Very gently. She knows this equipment is probably expensive and delicate- not a good combination for her to get involved in. She salutes him again* What else can I do for you, sir? Maggey Byrde is always more than willing to help!
Wright: *finishes mixing the drink, setting it on a tray with a napkin and then scanning around the bar for the clumsy waitress* Maggey--an order for table five! *goes back to washing out glasses*
Klavier: *follows after the woman and sets his amp down. He takes his guitar off his back and sets it down against the stage too.* Just grab me a drink, would you Fräulein? I will call you over if I need more help, ja?
Maggey: Of course, sir! *walks off to the bar, grabbing her discarded tray on the way. She smiles big at Phoenix* Got it, sir! Could you-... *realizes she didn't ask Klavier what he wanted. She loads the order onto her tray* Just a second, sir! *moves to table number five and hands out the drink to the patron*
Wright: Hold i--- *but Maggey's already dashed off, and he chuckles, calling after her* There are some other orders to take care of, too! *another stream of people come pouring in-- he isn't sure why today of all days is so busy, when Jake happens to be away, but then he realizes it's got to be the combined draw of the poker and the Gavinners, which hasn't happened before. Inwardly, he groans --someone's going to make him abandon his post soon*
Klavier: *whistles from the stage to Maggey to catch her attention* Fräulein, water with lemon -- but only a bit of lemon, ja?
Maggey: *after finishing handing out orders, she looks up, turning to Phoenix and then to Klavier, not sure where to go first. She isn't used to getting ordered around by two people. She turns to the bar and grabs another order* I need a water with just a bit of lemon please, sir!
Wright: Alright. *and he starts to do so immediately-- multitasking with his hands and talking isn't hard to manage, in this case* That tray you grabbed is for table one. You'll need to go order some wings for table five, too, and check up on the potato skins for table ten; they should be about ready. Oh, and here-- *hands her a receipt with tray* That's for table, uh... two, please apologise about the spilled chips.
Wright: ...And when you've got a minute could you clean up table eight?
Maggey: Right away, sir! Maggey Byrde won't let you down! *takes the other tray and balances as best as she can with two of them before moving to table one and handing out the orders* Here you go! *beams when she finishes, as she did not spill anything that time* Call me if you need anything else! *moves to table two, passing by Klavier* I'll have your order is just one moment, sir!
Klavier: *looks over to Maggey as he starts setting up a microphone stand, looking around for a mic* Alright Fräulein -- but hurry up with it, ja?
Maggey: *After apologizing to table two, she heads right back to the bar, reminding herself to check on the potato skins*
Wright: *there are quite a few orders coming in, so he got a tray ready for Maggey with the lemon water--who the heck orders lemon water? He's attached the lemon slice to the rim of the glass--standing alongside two daquiris and a rum and coke* I'm not sure I made the daquiris right, but those are for seven, and the rum and coke is for five again, and there's the lemon water.
Maggey: *takes the tray and heads straight to Klavier, dropping off his water* There you are, sir! Call me if you need anything else! *without waiting, she heads off to table seven*
Klavier: *takes his water and looks it over -- the lemon on the side is a cute touch but confirms his suspicion that Jake isn't working the bar tonight. He shrugs and takes a small sip; making a face* Augh--! *he turns his head, glancing around for Maggey* Fräulein come back here!
Maggey: *accidentally hands off the rum and coke to table seven before she hurries back over to Klavier* Yes, sir?
Klavier: *hands his drink to Maggey* Tell the monkey working the bar that is way too much lemon. Bring me a new one -- please.
Maggey: Oh! Of course, sir! I'm sorry, sir! *takes the glass and toddles back to the bar. She sets the glass on the counter* Um, he wants a little less lemon, please, sir!
Wright: A little less lemon? *mutters* What kind of diva-- *but he obliges, pouring out the water, taking out the lemon and starting afresh, with a new slice. He speaks as he works, again--* Someone just came up from table ten, asking about the potato skins. And oh, did you clean up table eight yet? *looking to Maggey sympathetically* I know it's a busy night. *hands her the new glass of lemon water*
Maggey: I'll get right on it, sir! *salutes him, still smiling before she takes the water back over to Klavier* A little less lemon, sir! Here you are!
Klavier: Thank you, Fräulein... Wait here. *sips the water and once again, hands it back* Not enough lemon.
Maggey: ....*blinks slowly.* Oh...Not enough lemon. Okay, got it, sir! Just another minute. Sorry about that! *takes the glass and returns to the counter, her smile a little strained.* Not enough lemon this time, sir. Sorry...
Wright: *can't help staring at Maggey for a longer than usual pause, even though he knows it isn't her fault* ..... Alright. But if it isn't good enough one more time, tell him to come back here and make it himself. *makes the drink afresh, and hands it to her* Oh, I think you mixed up the drinks for table seven and five-- they're both trying to wave you over...
Wright: I'll get on that so you can clean table eight, actually-- *and he makes to move out from the bar counter, but is immediately confronted by another man in a cowboy hat, who demands they start up poker-- there's a loud clamour as three more people yell out their agreement*
Wright: *glancing over to Maggey as he's pulled off by the bunch* Change of plans! Just handle the bar for now!
Maggey: *watches in absolute horror as Phoenix is pulled away. After a moment, she takes a deep breath, her expression taking a determined look. She speaks softly to herself* You can do this, Maggey! Mr. Marshall and Mr. Wright are counting on you! Don't let them down! *adjusts her cowboy hat and turns from the bar, forgetting the glass of water for Klavier*
Maggey: *her first stop is to tables five and seven, where she spends more time than she wanted apologizing and giving the right drinks to their owners. After assuring them that their drinks were on the house (Mr. Marshall wouldn't have to hear about that), she sees the glass of water on the table and takes it over to table one before greeting the few people who just stepped into the bar* Welcome to the Rusty Gust Saloon!
Maggey: *taking the group over to table eight, she panics slightly at the sight of the filthy table* Just one second please! *takes out her rag in her pocket and quickly wipes down the table while she grabs the few stray glasses off of it* Here you are! Make yourselves comfortable and I'll be right back to take your orders!
Maggey: *goes straight back to the bar counter before remembering the order wings and potato skins. She peeks her head into the kitchen* Order of wings, please! *glad to see the potato skins are finished, she grabs the plate and pauses* Now who were these for...? *decides she may as well just go from table-to-table asking who they belong to*
Klavier: *spots Maggey making her rounds, wandering table to table and he jumps down off the stage and walks over to her. She eventually finds the table the potato skins belong to and he waits (albiet impatiently) for her to finish apologizing for taking so long. When the woman turns around, Klavier has leaned down, his face close to Maggey's* Fräulein -- my water?
Wright: *as Maggey darts back and forth, Phoenix sets up at the back of the saloon, where a couple of rectangular tables have been placed for the express purposes of playing poker. Normally, he'd ask the waitress of the night to help deal, but since Maggey is swamped and the players don't seem to mind, he nominates himself for that position for the night. As the chips are handed out and he shuffles the cards, he's hit with an inexplicable craving for grape juice, but stealing a glance over to Maggey--apologising at a table, with Klavier right behind-- he holds back on asking and finishes shuffling the cards with a cascade*
Maggey: *jumps at the sight of the man right behind her.* AH! Oh...Mr. Gavin, sir! It completely slipped my mind! Let me get it for you right now!
Klavier: *stands up straight and puts his hands in his pockets* Good... I will come with you and make sure you do it right. *he gives her a playful smile* Herr Marshall never taught anyone else how I like my water it seems.
Maggey: O-oh? Sure, sir! That would probably be the easiest way! *gives him a small smile before turning and walking to the bar counter*
Klavier: *follows Maggey back to the bar and leans over the counter* Cut the lemon into quarters, squeeze a quarter into the bottom of class and then... add water. Very simple. Give it a shot.
Maggey: That is very specific, sir. Okay, I can do that. *takes a lemon and picks up a large knife. She bites down on her bottom lip before slicing the lemon once, happy that she missed her fingers*
Klavier: *watches her* Ja, be careful... Take your time -- no rush or anything. Not like I have a concert to do.
Maggey: *after cutting the lemon again, she picks up one of the quarters and squeezes it into the glass* That wasn't that hard at all! *fills the glass with water and sets it in front of Klavier*
Klavier: *takes the glass and sips* ... See? Perfect! *he smiles brightly at her* Good job, Fräulein. Now, you have some more tables to get to -- once you are done with them, if you can help me find the other microphone stand, that would be great, ja?
Maggey: Of course, sir! Let me just get a few orders out and I'll be right there! *with that, she smiles and heads off to grab the wings for...what table was it?*
Wright: *the poker players are all quite rowdy, and Phoenix grows increasingly parched as he deals. Finally, he caves in and flags Maggey over*
Maggey: *is still carrying the wings with her as walks over to Phoenix* Mr. Wright, sir? Can I get you something?
Wright: *as he deals out cards across the circle* Some grape juice, Maggey-- skip the glass, just get me the bottle, it'll save you a few trips. You holding up okay?
Maggey: Of course, sir! *moves to salute, but realizes she is holding the food still. She drops her hands again* I can take care of everything! I'll bring that glass right away! *rushes off to the counter to grab a bottle of grape juice. On her way over, she spots Klavier still waiting for her help with the mic stand* Oh! The mic stand! I can get that for you, sir!
Klavier: *Klavier, who's returned to hanging out near the stage (sitting on the side facing the bar) gives Maggey a nod and a small wave to acknowledge he's heard her. He returns to fiddling with some wires in his amp, as well as ones connecting to a speaker*
Maggey: *heads straight for the backstage area to grab a microphone stand. With it in hand, she returns to Klavier and hands him the bottle of grape juice, completely by accident* There you are, sir! I need to get this *gives the stand a small shake* over to another table! *rushes off towards Phoenix's table*
Klavier: *takes the bottle by the neck, not looking at what he's been handed as he finishes plugging the spare microphone in* Thank you Fräulein. *he looks over to the bottle and has to do a double-take before he realizes... he's holding a grape juice bottle* Ah, Maggey--? *looks up to where she was standing and sees she's wandered off. He stands up and looks around, trying to figure out why he's got grape juice and where his microphone stand went*
Maggey: *holds out the microphone stand* Here you are, sir! One bottle of grape juice!
Wright: *glances up from his cards and stares at it--and then at her--with a bemused grin on his face* You know, my friends tried to pull that on me during karaoke once too, but I was actually tipsy that time.
Maggey: Huh? ...*looks over to the stand.* ...Oops... I wonder where I put that grape juice at...
Wright: A ha ha. At a guess... it'd be where you were supposed to deliver the stand?
Maggey: Right! Of course! *hurries back over to where she left Klavier. She holds out the stand, looking a little upset by her mistake* I'm so sorry, sir!! I got a little mixed up!
Klavier: *offers Maggey a sympathetic chuckle, taking the mic stand and setting it aside* Thank you -- get your head on right, Fräulein, it is a busy night. Where is this grape juice going? I'll deliver it -- *gestures over to one of the tables* That guy over there has been trying to flag you down for a few minutes now.
Maggey: *glances to the table and panics. She points in Phoenix's direction* It was going over to the poker table! Thank you so much, sir! *gives a quick salute and then rushes over to the patron who has been waiting for her for the last ten minutes*
Klavier: *shakes his head, smiling with a touch of amusement as he watches the poor girl run off. Holding the bottle by the neck, he heads over towards the poker table in back. He tilts his sunglasses down, recognizing Wright now -- even with the cowboy hat on* So, the piano man moonlights as a card shark?
Wright: *glances up from the table, gathering the cards; they've just finished a hand. He looks plenty amused and calls over the din of the crowd* About on par with the prosecutor-rockstar, huh? Only, I've been bartending for the last few days, too.
Klavier: I can see that... But you really do need to learn how to make water properly...
Wright: *just. stares. ... and then laughs, rifling the deck in his hands* Talk to Hydro about that, kid-- not me. So how big is the lemon slice supposed to be, for Klavier Gavin's pre-performance drink?
Klavier: The lemon juice is in the water. *leans over with a cocky grin* That is what it is "lemon water" and not "water with lemon," ja?
Wright: A ha ha. Alright, point taken. *cascades the cards, but instead of starting up the next round, he announces a fifteen minute break before turning back to Klavier--unfortunately for Maggey, though, that means a flood of people heading to the bar counter to make orders*
Wright: Marshall's going to be out for the next little while, so next time you come, you're welcome to make your own behind the counter.
Klavier: I do not think I will have to... Our dear Fräulein made it perfect. The first time. *straightens out and holds out the bottle of grape juice out to Phoenix* I assume this is yours?
Wright: Ah, thanks. *twists off the lid with an all too familiarized motion, and takes a long swig. He sighs out comfortably when he's done* Yeah, Maggey's been a big help around here. I think we may have been working her a bit too hard tonight though, what with all the orders and ordering around. *glances in the general direction of the rest of the bar, noting Maggey's progress*
Klavier: *stuffs his hands in his pockets and looks over to where Maggey is running about* Ja, poor girl looks exhausted already.
Wright: *glances back to the poker table* I was going to ask you to join in for a round, but it seems like we ought to do something more productive with that time instead. You better at giving backrubs, or footrubs?
Klavier: *is still watching Maggey run about* Footrubs. *clears his throat a bit, turning back to Phoenix with a suspicious glance and raised eyebrow* No, you are not getting one.
Wright: *sets down the deck of cards and fixes Klavier with an incredulous glare* ...Waaaasn't asking for one, kid. I was just thinking that it'd be a good idea if did something for Maggey, even if it's just for a few minutes.
Klavier: Oh.... Oh! *shakes his head a little to clear it* Ja, I suppose we should, once the bar has settled down a little. My boys will not be arriving for a while still so I have time to give the pretty Fräulein a foot rub...
Wright: Alright, I'll handle the drink and the backrub, then. *glances back to the rest of the bar to assess the activity level--*
Maggey: *a large shatter sounds through the bar as Maggey lets out a very unhappy cry, standing over a few shards of glass. She groans, obviously exhausted* Not again!
Wright: I think that's our cue. *tilts his head at Klavier* You get her to sit down, I'll handle the spill.
Klavier: *nods and turns around, heading over towards Maggey. He whistles to catch her attention, standing near an empty table* Hey, Fräulein. Come here for a moment, ja?
Maggey: *looks like she is almost on the verge of tears before she brings herself to leave the mess and go over to Klavier* Yes, sir?
Wright: *heads off to the bar counter to grab the broom and dustpan*
Klavier: *pulls out a chair from the table and gets down on one knee, taking Maggey's hand and kissing the back of it* Have a seat, Fräulein. Moment, ich mach das schon~ [["Let me give you a hand"]]
Maggey: W-what?! *all of the tiredness in her expression fades as a small touch of pink appears in her cheek under her wide eyes* Mr. Gavin, sir? I'm on duty right now. I don't have time to sit down...
Wright: *steals a glance over as he sweeps, shaking his head and laughing* Eighteen and already a womanizer.
Klavier: *rises up and gently pushes Maggey down into the chair* Of course you do -- do not be silly. You have been running around without a break all evening. Allow me and Herr Wright to handle this, ja?
Klavier: *a sly smile crosses Klavier's face as he tilts his sunglasses down, looking at Maggey* Pretty girls deserve a little... pampering, you know.
Maggey: *upon hearing Phoenix's name, she turns to see him sweeping up her mess. She waits for a cue from him as to whether or not she should be listening to Klavier* Pampering? *her eyes flick to his under her glasses*
Wright: *sees Maggey glance up as for some sort of confirmation, and gives her a wink, finishing up with the mess*
Klavier: *runs his hand along Maggey's shoulders and down her arm* Ja, now... We invite you to relax, settle in that chair... We invite you to be our guest~ We will let you put our service to the test~ *moves down onto one knee again, running his hand down Maggey's knee*
Maggey: Um..........Okay. *looks down at Klavier, her face very red by now*
Wright: *sets away the broom and dustpan, washes his hands and gets to mixing--pineapple juice, coconut cream, and upon consideration, a dash of rum as well, into a blender. He glances at the register as he turns on the blender, knowing Jake will probably want this billed*
Klavier: *takes off one of Maggey's shoes* Would you care for a quick foot rub, Fräulein? Your feet must be aching; running about so much...
Maggey: *giggles involuntarily as her shoe tickles the bottom of her foot as it is removed. Though still flushed and very confused, her voice sounds stronger* You don't have to do that, sir...But they are a little achy.
Wright: *takes a sniff of the mixed result after stopping the blender, and decides that yes, it's fairly close to what a pina colada should smell. He pours it into a goblet and goes to retrieve one of those little umbrellas and a pineapple for it, too*
Klavier: *takes off his sunglasses, placing them in the front pocket of his shirt and offers Maggey a warm, inviting smile* Fräulein... I am Klavier Gavin -- and I only do what I want to when I want to*He removes Maggey's sock and gently squeezes Maggey's foot before working his thumbs in a circular motion along the top*
Klavier: How does it feel, Fräulein? *runs his fingers down to her heel and then back up again, continuing to rub like he had been*
Maggey: *shivers a little at the touch, though she can't deny that it does feel very nice* R-really good, sir... *a pause* Mr. Klavier Gavin.
Wright: *raises an eyebrow at Klavier from over at the bar counter, but he continues with paying for the drink at the register, and telling a slightly tipsy patron that he'll fix him something in a few minutes, but for now the bar is going to be closed*
Klavier: *applies a bit more pressure to the middle of her foot as he rubs down before sliding his thumbs up to her toes. He holds her foot with one hand, letting the fingers of the other run along Maggey's big toe before cracking it* I am glad~ Like I said... *he cracks the next toe, looking up to Maggey with a sly gaze; his face close enough to her toes for her to feel him breathing slowly through his nose* All pretty girls deserve to be pampered~
Maggey: *closing her eyes, she lets out a very happy sounding sigh* Oh, sir. That feels really good.
Wright: *glances back to Maggey and Klavier again, notes the boy's behaviour, and ducks back behind the bar for the water spray bottle*
Klavier: *chuckles softly; his breath hitting Maggey's foot* Mm, you have nice feet Fräulein~ *he finishes cracking her toes* You must take care of them, ja~?
Maggey: Thank you, sir. *peeks one eye open to glance down at him, smiling* I try to, but wearing heels everyday doesn't really help much.
Klavier: *Klavier's smile widens as he returns Maggey's gaze* They are still... very nice. *Klavier's lips gently press against the tip of Maggey's big-toe before whispering* very nice~
Wright: *arrives just in time to give Klavier a couple unamused spritzes to the face with the spray bottle* Cool down, kid. *and to Maggey, he offers the drink* Here you go.
Maggey: For me, sir? *glances up to him before taking the drink* I shouldn't drink while I'm working!
Klavier: *jumps back when he's sprayed, wiping the water off his face and shooting a glare at Phoenix* Hey now, Herr Wright, what was that for?
Wright: Your job's to pamper and not to seduce, Romeo. *and to Maggey, rounding her chair and placing his hands on her shoulders gently* Don't worry, it's very light-- and it's already been paid for.
Maggey: Oh! *jumps again at the touch, spilling a little of her drink onto her apron* Well, if you insist, sir. *takes a small sip before making a very pleased noise* My favorite!
Klavier: *mutters a few things in German under his breath and straightens out, going back to rubbing Maggey's foot -- in a considerably less seductive way, lest he get sprayed again*
Wright: *rubs her shoulders, gently at first but applying more pressure with his fingers once he's sure of how much she can comfortably take* We can't keep this up for very long--or at least I shouldn't, Maggey, but the both of us wanted to say our thanks. *his voice is warm, and lightly teasing*
Maggey: Oh, Mr. Wright...Mr. Gavin. That's so thoughtful of you both... *closes her eyes again, letting herself enjoy the moment*
Klavier: *finishes with Maggey's right foot, moving to remove her shoe on the left; rubbing that one too* Ja, Fräulein -- you deserve a break. Just a few minutes of relaxation, ja?
Wright: *kneads her shoulders, keeping a careful lookout of the movement of the various patrons in the bar--they seem to have caught wind of what is going on. And, likely largely due to the constant sweet-tempered nature of the clumsy waitress, most of them seem to be bearing with the wait pretty well*
Maggey: *lets out a low moan at the wonderful pressure on both her feet and back; the pampering seems to be just what she needed. She can't think straight enough to make a coherent sentence at this point, so she just keeps her eyes closed and lets them continue*
Klavier: *cracks this set of toes as well, giving Maggey's foot a final squeeze and slow rub down to the heel* Feeling better now, Fräulein?
Maggey: *nods slowly* Very...
Wright: *the impromptu pampering session continues for some minutes longer, till finally Phoenix glances back over to the bar area and notes the large number of individuals restlessly milling there* Alright, time's up, unfortunately.
Wright: I'm going to head back to the counter; Maggey, take a few more minutes before you come back, alright? *nodding to Klavier in thanks, he gives the waitress' shoulder a pat and walks off*
Klavier: *rises up to his feet after putting Maggey shoes back on for her* There. I need to go finish warming up before the rest of my band arrives -- if you need anything more, just ask me or Herr Wright, ja?
Maggey: *takes a minute to open her eyes and remember that she is still in the Rusty Gust before she smiles up at him. She salutes* Sure. Thank you, Mr. Gavin. That was really nice...
Klavier: *glances over to the bar. Seeing Wright is occupied mixing drinks, he reaches down and takes Maggey's hand, placing another small kiss on the back of it* It was our pleasure, Fräulein~ *he lets go of her hand and heads back towards the stage*
Maggey: *makes herself stand up, feeling a little wobbly after her pampering. She looks around the bar before realizing just where she is and that there are many customers waiting for her* Oh! *she grabs a tray and rushes towards the crowd* I'm sorry for the wait!!
