I understand why you would find that uncomfortable territory to discuss with Graham. Keep thinking about it, and see if you can muster the courage another time. Meanwhile, you still enjoy spending time together. :)

It can be so hard to discuss things in an ambiguous relationship. I loved the idea that it can be easier to discuss some things side by side rather than looking at each other -- such a great observation!
