Wearing black and loose sweaters might compromise curves, but sometimes theses curves were just too prominent to hide any longer. Sooner or later everyone could see with their own eyes that Tora was, to say it in Shou's words, in the family way. He was running out of ideas what to wear each day.
He pulled down his dark brown hoodie at the hem but it simply refused to stay like that and snapped back up, creating a little open tent that showed more than it hid.
And that in the entrance hall of the PSC, of all places!
"We have to tell them, I guess." Nao said and pushed the button to call an elevator, smiling at his grumbling lover.
"No, we don't." Tora zipped his winter jacket up again, more pleased with his all-covered look.
He didn't want to tell anyone, not now, he didn't feel ready. Having Nao by his side every night slightly caressing his middle was okay, he actually started to enjoy it. Anyone else knowing about his not so little secret would mean unpleasant talks and annoyingly squealing men.
Nao shook his head. "You're in your fourth month, love, you are so~ showing. They'll start to ask questions any day now." He didn't want to push Tora too much, but this was getting ridiculous.
They stepped into the small cell as various staff members and clerks exited it, glad to be the only two people occupying the little space.
"Tell them I got fat." He opened his jacket and cupped his belly to take a closer look into the big mirror on the wall. "It's not even a lie, anyway."
The drummer snorted loudly. "That's it? You prefer them thinking you got fat - which you didn't - instead of pregnant?" He paused for a fit of giggles. "If I were you I'd be waltzing around."
"If you were the one of us pregnant, we wouldn't have this problem."
"Oh, this is about you bottoming again, ne?" Nao said with a playful slap on the guitarist's backside.
Tora only growled in response and stepped hastily out of the elevator as it announced their destiny with a soft bell sound. All he wanted was to get to their studio as fast as possible and better not cross ways with anyone. Just as he finally touched the doorhandle, someone called out.
"Guys, wait for me!" A small person, huddled in a think woolen hat, big sunglasses and a scarf jogged his last few steps towards them.
"Good morning, Ruki-san." Nao greeted, smiling brightly.
"'Morning. Is Shou already here?" He asked and readjusted the golden purse on his shoulder.
Tora opened the door and fled into the room, got rid of his jacket and sat down on the armchair behind the band's messy table. Hiroto was busy with Saga tuning an acoustic guitar, so they didn't pay that much of attention. A mere mumbled greeting to the rest of the band was all Tora could muster. The other two followed him. Nao closed the door and took a look at whatever their management wrote a note about. Tora really didn't want to have Ruki nearby right now, he was loud, nosy and moody as if he was the pregnant one. So why, just why did he have the nerves to sit down next to him on that small stool they usually used as a small extra table? The small man took his purse and placed it on his lap to pull out two bags. One plastic, one paper.
"Here are the stones you asked me for, and the superglue." Ruki said towards a anticipating Shou. "And yes, I bought you the muffins. Sorry about spilling my coffee on yours yesterday."
"Thank you, Ruki-san!" Shou inspected the bags closer and pulled out a glittery box of rhinestones.
Pleased, he nodded and put the box into his own purse before he glanced into the second, bigger bag.
"Five muffins? But I only had three yesterday."
"Two extra because I'm sorry." It was impossible to read his expression behind his scarf and sunglasses.
"You could share them with us." Nao chirped as he sat down on the armrest of Tora's chair, opposite of Ruki. Food, that was something to get him join any conversation.
"Well, I had indented to buy one for Saga, one for Chiaki and one for me. I can only share two, though." He looked a bit sorry about that, but his lover and son deserved their little muffin, right?
As if hearing the cue, Tora's tummy rumbled loudly. Nao giggled and petted his lover's shoulder.
"You can have both, you sound like you could need them." Shou said and placed one chocolate and one blueberry muffin in front of his friend.
"To me he looks like he already had enough." Ruki poked Tora's round belly.
The guitarist slapped his hand away and instinctively caressed his middle with a spread hand. He grew quite protective recently.
Suddenly, Ruki brows knit. "Dude, that's hard, not soft." He reached over and tugged hard on the hoodie Tora was wearing. "Oh no, you're not!" He stood up , completely ignoring Nao's signs to shut up now. "You? Pregnant?"
Tora sank into the comfy chair with one hand covering his eyes. He didn't need to look at his band mates to know he was the center of attention. He heard the guitar being set down and steps coming closer.
"Tora-shi, why didn't you tell us!" Shou's voice was thick with awe and he knew that any minute he would bug him with question like Can I touch your belly?
"Guys, don't make a fuss. He's not taking it as well as Saga did."
"I'd say he took it quite good." Ruki smirked. " Nao, tell me, did he beg you to take him hard? Who would have thought, the great tiger taking it up -"
"That isn't very nice to say, Ruki-senpai." Hiroto interrupted. Tora would have to thank him later when everyone calmed down. "I think you should leave, your band must already been waiting for you and you don't want Kai to cut you off cigarettes for the rest of the day, ne?"
Between his fingers Tora watched how Hiroto guided the smaller vocalist out off their studio. As soon as the door was shut, he huffed.
"Senpai or not, that guy is a jerk sometimes."
Tora relaxed slightly and rearranged his clothes. "There, Nao, I told you so."
"Awwww Tora-shi!" Shou cooed, skipping closer on the couch.
"No, no, no! No awww-ing!" He held a hand up to stop the mushy behavior.
Saga sat down beside his lover and pulled him against his side, away from the embarrassed guitarist. "Drop it, you know him." He kissed a cheek of the pouting vocalist.
Tora knew they expected something of him. He was bound to say, to admit, to explain something.
"Okay, guys, I'm pregnant. There. I said it." Tora blushed crimson and gripped the offered hand Nao had placed on his arm, tightly. It reassured him that he wasn't alone with this no matter how awkward he felt. Nonetheless he didn't dare to look anyone in the eyes.
"Congratulations." Hiroto perked and raised his arms. What else to say right now? He had no idea what to do with the hyperness that rose within him.
"If you need advice, you know I'm there for you." Saga said with one arm around Shou to keep him from attacking Tora again. He had gone through all this already. Not only the pregnancy with his and Shou's dearest son Chiaki, also the way Shou acts. Sooner or later he'd try to draw on Tora's belly and that wouldn't end up in a cheery cuddling session like it did with Saga.
Maybe if Nao tried that, but only maybe.
The guitarist's tummy rumbled again, eliciting a sigh from the tall man. He smiled for the first time that day as he grabbed one of the muffins.
"One thing for sure, the baby has Nao's appetite."
It was going to be okay.
