On the balcony, Saga stood, smoking a Pêche. The sweet scent of peaches mingled with the bitter burned tobacco as he gazed into space. Shou was watching him from the dark living room. Once again he marveled his beauty, his porcelain, flawless skin, the petal-like lips closing around the filter, the profile he adored more than anything. He was drawn closer, as it happened so often, and stepped out onto the balcony. A breeze instantly tugged on his gray cardigan. He leaned on the railing, next to the bassist and tried to pinpoint what he was looking at.
"What's on your mind?" Shou asked in a quiet voice, as if he feared to disturb the other man if he spoke any louder. As if he could scare the thoughts away Saga seemed to hold on.
"The stars. Us." Saga answered, taking another drag from his cigarette.
"Because we are stars?" Shou tilted his head and smiled. Saga didn't.
"No." The bassist turned to the other. "There are so many stars out there, but I can only name a few." He looked back up at the city's sky with it's few visible twinkling stars adorning the night. "Just like these millions of people living here. It's just..." His face grimaced as he tried to blink tears out of his eyes, keeping them from being shed. "How was I able to find you, the love of my life, so easily?" He stubbed out the burned down stick.
Shou pulled Saga into his arms, circling him tenderly, drawing patterns on the small of his back to sooth. "Because we are meant to be together."
Saga leaned his forehead on Shou's shoulder, inhaling his very scent. "It's... You know, there is only one soulmate for each of us. One out of billions all over the world. And I actually found you."
The singer kissed Saga's temple and tightened his embrace a wee bit. "You found me." He could tell Saga was crying, he trembled slightly and his fingers dug into the thick gray wool he wore.
"I'll never forget the moment our eyes met, back then." The bassist mumbled, his voice thick with affection.
"Love at first sight." Shou chuckled airy, one hand playing with the tips of Saga's hair.
"You were so beautiful."
"So were you. You still are."
The kept silent for a while, enjoying the presence of the other, the fact they were so close, right there, in each other's arms, holding on to who the are and were going to be. Moments like this nourished this warm feeling that nestled inside their hearts, keeping them more alive than oxygen.
"I love you." Shou whispered into Saga's hair. "I'll always do."
Looking up at him, the bassist gave Shou an honest smile as he wiped off a tear from his own wet cheek. He simply nodded and leaned in for a soft kiss of mutual promises.
