I starting to think that the US should rule the planet based solely on the fact that we seem to be the only country that realizes that nescafe is not really coffee. I only lookedin one store, but I'm not sure if I can even (or easily) get real coffee. How can people think that instant coffee is a substitute for the real thing ( Read more... )

Oh man...Instant is no good at all... But at least there's Starbucks, right? I mean, expensive, but at least it's there, right? I wish there was a reasonable way I could send you coffee...

Is a lot of TV in English?

I don't think there is a Starbucks in my town. But there are a few western chains that should have real coffee. Like Dunkin Donuts. I find this funny since they don't even have dd in LA, but I'm not complaining. I haven't been in yet but when I get a little homesick that will be my first place for some comfort food (and coffee).

There are 3 channels (that I get in my hotel) that get English programs. One is the Discovery channel that is (as far as I can tell never actually watching the Discovery channel) exactly like home (except that the commercials are only for other Discover channel programs, which gets old, but the Korean commercials can be annoying), and two that mostly play American programs. The one station plays a lot of top model type shows but also sometimes plays house. The other plays more crappy movies but also had a bones marathon and another show that I can't remember right now. I don't know if I will get these but I'm pretty sure I won't get more since my monthly tv bill is about $3.

Oh no! But at least there's a DD, that covers both your donuts and coffee needs, so good.

$3? Is that like a special low rate? That's pretty awesome (although I guess I don't really know how the American dollar goes over there) it's like $13 to get limited basic stuff here.

3 dollars (can't find the dollar sign, I'm on a computer at work) is the regular rate. I have no idea what that gets you, but I think it should be more then it would get you at home. Over here you get tv on your phone. Even someone on a pay as you go has tv on his phone (I don't know how much it costs and all, but still, so cool!).

I don't know exactly how far 3 bucks goes, but it depends on what you are getting. It's not like in Eurotrip where it will by you a luxury suite suite, but it gets you more.
