Proposals would turn highways into wind farms

Clogged highways and frustratingly waiting while your gas needle plummets to empty usually doesn't conjure up thoughts of green, but it seems like these very roads could become the source of a lot more energy.

Um...yeah. In theory it's a great idea.
Realistic feasability, though? Bad placement for sure. You know they're going to get hit and mangled. And yeah, the cost to repair these things is probably going to be pretty spendy...possibly outweighing the benefits altogether.

It could be made into a good idea, but not like that. What I'd prefer it ot have windmills on the lights. They're tall and are almost never hit. The wall thing is a clever use of space, but they get smashed too often, because that's their job.

Transportation should be more energy efficient.

I can't disagree with that, but I think that trying to harness renewable energy sources like wind and solar is, in principle at least, a good idea.
