When I set up this community I also registered urbanpaganism.info. At the moment there's just a wiki there that was never used, but I'm planning to wipe that and replace it with something a bit more interesting and useful ( Read more... )

I found the jumble a little too chaotic to interpret usefully, just for the record. But I think the basic idea is very cool indeed.

Chaos is pretty much inevitable when you're generating it entirely randomly.

Your moderation fails me as I am what I consider a Space-Pagan, for lack of a better phrase, oriented toward She Whose Body Is The Stars rather than the Earth, fitting in with the title unnaturalpagans as I understood it to mean.

It most certainly was not cross-posted to "every other pagan community on LiveJournal" but to a specific set of communities -- a few Pagan, a few Christian, and two Unitarian Universalist -- I thought fit with how I defined my religious feelings in the first paragraph ( ... )

I really don't care about your understanding of the name of the community. I care about your understanding of the topic, as laid out in the profile. It's not hard to read, and no amount of calling me a meanie will change the fact that this post, even if it is appropriate as a 'general Pagan' post has no connection to urban/city life and therefor is off-topic.

You either didn't read this or didn't care. I suspect the latter, since a quick search of my LJ comment archive turned up political grandstanding masquerading as Paganism before.

Whoops. Missed that bit. I guess if all complaints about ill-treatment, regardless of validity, are to be considered "whining" your intent was deliberately rude.

That's hardly consistent with your rule about not being "an obnoxious arsehole", but it is your community to be hypocritical in administering if you wish.

[sigh]

Too bad. This could have been an interesting place to hang around.

Oh, cool, a flounce. I think I get points for that.

No, child (I'm old enough to be your father), I was just mentioning that I was leaving since I don't fit into your misleadingly-worded notion of what "unnatural Paganism" is, and you have the right to run your own group in whatever way you want, including being a hypocritical horse's arse if you so choose. Your business. No flouncing, just acknowledging your rights, although I do also note that it's unfortunate that your particular bit of bigotry against the aspect of "unnatural Paganism" I follow (also your right) seems to be in the way of communication and prohibits personal decency on your part.

A group about this kind of Paganism would be a good thing to be involved with, but it's become clear very quickly that I don't and won't fit into one run by the likes of you. It isn't a "flounce" to recognize that.

Appeals to authority due to age are the hallmark of an ineffectual idiot.

The goal of the community is very clearly stated in the profile. If you're incapable of reading that and insist on determining the goal of the community purely through a tongue-in-cheek name, then that's your problem. Don't cry like a child because I deleted your post, citing the two parts of the rules that you broke.

If you're going to make a point about your age, try acting like an adult. Accept that you made a mistake and were called on it, and not in an overly 'mean' or 'rude' way - simply in a direct way without sugar-coating or asking your permission.

On a final note, I'd love to see where you think I've been hypocritical, as I'm quite sure I've been totally consistent regarding this issue. Or are you just throwing around names, like a spoilt child throwing a tantrum?
