Apparently you aren't the only one. I hated having to call for support for cable when I had it too! I switched to DirecTV, but their service was no better. As soon as my service contract ended, something happened to our dish & they wanted to charge me to come & repair/replace it! We switched to Dish thinking it would be better because my next door neighbor is an contracted installer. Little did I realize at the time that our neighbor & the people that work for him (mostly family & a few strays) are TOTAL CHOADES!! So I don't really have any advice, but I can certainly relate.

yes, these choade monkeys have us by the proverbial balls. It makes my fucking blood boil. I just sent them an email complaining and I get an automated reply from "Micheal" (aka choade monkey #718) who basically says "to terminiate your services call this number". If someone had actually READ the email I sent they would have known that I ALREADY terminated my service. What can you do? Cussing out the people on the phone doesn't seem to relieve the almost terrifying urge I have to strangle someone over there with a fucking piano wire (to borrow a phrase you so eloquently used once...). AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Customer service seems to suck in any company, including mine! You either get a bunch of ill-paid American half-wits or you get the overly "helpful" & poorly informed Indian helpdesk. Ugh, don't even get me started about that one.

Anyway, I recommend a stiff drink at this point!!
