The Pity-Line

I don't want to stand in the pity-line.

The very idea is cruel and heartless, no matter how good people make it seem. I'm talking about the line the family forms after the burial, so that people can shuffly by and shake hands and take pity on every single family member without missing a single one. This is a new phenomenom to me. You have to line up so people can tell you how sorry they are?

It's what I hate most out of the entire burial! I spend the entire time keeping face and trying not to bawl like a 5 year old and then i have to stand in line to wait my turn to be pitied.

I usually stare at people's hands as they shake mine and nod my head continuously.
