I don't have any suggestions, I'm just commenting to say that I'm totally the same way. >_> When I come home in May, I really need to go through my stuff and get rid of some of it.

I am no help, because I looked at your reasons and went "Yes! Exactly! Someday I will need grade ten meteorology notes and alternate ending to In the Heat of the Night."

I hear you.
1. Think in pros and cons. There is definitely the chance that you may use a few of those things in the future. So if you keep everything you will always be prepared (pro). But you probably will not use most of those things and in the meantime they are taking up space (con). Is the pro worth the con? If you get rid of something you later need again, would that be the worst thing in the world?
2. Think of it as an experiment. Get rid of stuff in one section, then stop and see how you feel.
3. Picture how happy you will be when your room is the way you'd like it to look :]
