Deep post, I'm glad I added you as a friend! I agree with the organized religion bit, but people should be allowed to have whatever "support groups" or "crutches" they want so long as they don't hardsell their beliefs to others. If I *had* to pick a religion, I would go with Buddhism because it tries to be the anti-religioun sort of, in that it admits that pain/suffering is part of life, and the only way to live with that is to be a bit more detached. I don't know, maybe that's a gross oversimplification, but I was reading this book by the Dalai Lama the other day (I was bored, snow day) and he sounds like a super sweet dude. Except that I'm a little weary of anyone who's title is "His Holiness."
that's always exciting. you seem pretty cool, from what i can tell anyway.
as for religion... it's something that some people need to rely on, but that doesn't make it any less/more real, in my opinion. i'm not religious but perhaps i'm the wrong one who doesn't see the truth about god or buddha or whomever. it's really just a set of rules and morals for people to live by so the world doesn't become a complete anarchy. it's a system of people control. if you can't control people by trying to control them from the outside in, you end up trying to control them from the inside out...
Yeah, I saw you in/around the NYU boards and thought you would be a good friend to have. heh.
Oh and about religion? I wasn't saying that it is completely invalid for everyone, just that I am questioning the validity of it at this point. Who knows what will happen tomorrow...right?

I read Siddhartha in ninth grade, and Buddha seems like a very nice guy as well.
