For those who have not yet seen Spider-man 3...

I won't spoil anything. All I'll say is, the first and second Spider-mans, it is not. Too many villains (a concern for me from the beginning), and some very questionable directorial decisions are in there. It's not terrible. But I think what Sam Raimi intended is not quite what we got.

Be warned. It's not the trilogy-ender it should have been.

wow, that's pretty much what i felt about X-Men 3.
I plan on DVD or drive-in seeing Spiderman3. Or at least waiting until the OMG! hardcore fans stop going.

Yeah, I wouldn't say this was as big a let-down as X-Men 3. It's worth a look in the theater. Just not as good as the second one.

good to know.
I still liked X-Men3, but not for the same reasons i cared about the other two. In the third i didn't give a shit about the characters anymore and just watched stuff go boom. I enjoyed the way stuff went boom, though, so i wasn't too upset about it. I still think that the Phoenix saga should have been the third and then a fourth for the "last stand"...but, whatever.

I've always liked Venom, so i'll more than likely enjoy this one...as long as they don't put him in a tutu or something.

Yeah, I just kind of wish they had done a whole movie with Venom. In fact, I really feel like each of the villains could have had their own movie. Still, it's a fun summer movie, even if a couple of scenes don't quite work.

Small spoiler for those who have not seen it yet ... neenerpants May 7 2007, 12:09:31 UTC
I was cool with the movie except for the fact that Spiderman (or any superhero) should NEVER have a dance solo in a jazz club. This is not cool. What the hell was Sam Rami thinking?

But ... I also liked it enough that I will go see it in the theater again.
Yay for Peter Parker, the geek.

I agree whole-heartedly. That's one of the "questionable directorial decisions" I was referring to. The fact that he felt we needed a "visual cue" to realize the suit was getting to him was another one. You know what I'm talking about, I'm sure.
