I'm not going to go into detail about yesterday because it was another mistake, similar to Tuesday, but I thought I should mention it because I need to use this as motivation to do better. One of my biggest problems is that I have no motivation, so maybe the threat of failure or close to it should be enough to get me back on track. I don't think ( Read more... )

i didn't see the snowboarding last night, but i did get to watch figure skating and Nobunari Oda was definitely my favorite. even though he had that malfunction, he kept his composure and started right where he left off. if i were in the same situation, olympics or not, i would skate off the ice and cry.

and Evan Lysacek glowing after he won was amazing. Plushenko just comes off as an arrogant trash talker to me. an article i read at work today quoted him saying, "If the Olympic champion doesn't know how to jump a quad, I don't know," Plushenko said. "Now it's not men's figure skating, now it's dancing."

maybe you can come over sunday night? we can "have the olympics on in the background" while we pretend to study. i'll make dinner.

Plushenko is definitely a huge jerk who is just mad he lost. I don't understand him one bit. How can an entire performance be judged on one jump? I think he should have been worrying more about the wobbles in his other jumps than Lysacek's inability to do the quad, especially when Lysacek's jumps were perfect. I watched an interview of Lysacek where he was read Plushenko's comments. He remained very gracious with his reply and even said that he looked up to Plushenko. I just feel bad for Lysacek; everyone is so concerned with Plushenko that it's taking away from Lysacek's spotlight.

Coming over Sunday sounds great. Even with the "olympics on in the background," I still feel like I'll get more done than by myself.
