AHAHAH!!!! YUKI MIGHT'VE GOTTEN THE FIRST POST, BUT THE FIRST LOG IS MINE!

Tamaki was excited. As friendly as he was, he had never had a real friend before. Fay was probably the closest he had ever come, and maybe Yuki too, but he knew he could only talk to them because of their positions, and it wasn't exactly the same as having a real friend. It wasn't that people didn't like Tamaki, it was just that he was rarely ( Read more... )

Asuka, on the other hand, wasn't quite sure what the heck to think as he wandered through the town, slowly making his way towards what he was going to assume to be the palace. These people, here... in... Modgnik, wasn't it? They were kind of weird. Not a one of them was wearing the ka'a, and some of them were even having the nerve to stare at him, as though he were the one out of place! Asuka thought for only a moment about calling up a water spell to turn them all away--then common sense knocked him hard over the head, voice sounding rather suspiciously like Cel's.

Dumbass. The last~ thing you need to be doing around here is making enemies so quick. What if one of them can help?Right. He'd just have to go with it for now... but not without raising an imperious eyebrow at a couple of the people he'd seen staring. "Don't go blind," he told them both with a smirk, tapping his right eyelid. "Foolish to go out without it--you'd best hope you've got the luck of the Maiden if you're gonna escape blindness ( ... )

((But of course~))

Tamaki heard a voice, and dashed out of the room. And then he grinned. "Are you Asuka?" he asked, looking at him up and down. He held out his hand eagerly. "Hi! I'm Tamaki!"

Asuka had to stop for a moment--he had to stop and blink at the kid that had just stopped him short. So this was the kid he'd been talking to, eh? He seemed... a bit young to be ruling a country. No wonder there was war.

But he seemed sincere enough, and after a moment, Asuka reached out, gingerly accepting the proferred hand. Eehhhh... what was he doing?

"...Asuka," he finally offered with a nod, looking the younger boy up and down. "Asuka Citèis, as it were."

Tamaki shook the hand. "We can go to my room and talk if you want," Tamaki said, still smiling. "And then if you want, I can get some food. Do you want anything?"

Asuka shook his head, drawing his hand back with an arched eyebrow.

People outside were so weird. He didn't believe they weren't all insane.

"That's all right."

"Really? If you're sure. Do you want to go to my room to talk?"

Asuka shrugged. What the hell--it was what he was there for, after all. "Sure. Lead on."

Perhaps he should have waited a while, until his almost-injured pride had recovered. He was not~ insane~ and it was still annoying him slightly that so many were believing he was.

Of course, that was just their own inanity speaking.

Tamaki led the way to his room, babbling randomly about the castle or about a painting that they passed, and occasionally greeting a guard who'd wave back and give Asuka a bit of a suspicious look, until he finally made it too his room which was deeper in the castle.

He shut the door behind him. "So! What's Desuya like?" he asked as soon as the door was closed. "I bet it's really cool! You guys live underground? How does that work?"

Aah, there~ it was. So his normally-cheerful nature had just been hiding~ from all the sarcasm and jackassery! Asuka didn't respond at first, instead choosing to pace the perimeter of the room, glancing up at the walls as he walked. Maybe~ he was being overcautious, but he wasn't going to risk selling Asuka out to anyone. Especically not with a war going on.

When he'd circled once and the room had met his criteria (he didn't see~ anything that could be used for listening in, at any rate, and if there was anyone listening in via magic? He'd just have to kill~ them~), Asuka paused, looking towards Tamaki before smirking. "You have no idea," was all he said for a long moment, looking around the room again.

"We live underground because that's just how it is," he told Tamaki, folding his arms and leaning slightly back into the wall. "You're in the middle of the desert, people are dying off right and left. No leaving, because this is your land and your lady has given it specifically to your people--no-one else. So what do you do? You go ( ... )

"Really? Don't you ever want to go play outside." He paused. "Oh yeah! About that, the sun here is a lot weaker than the sun on the desert, so it really doesn't do the same amount of damage, so you really don't need to worry about the ka'a, I don't think. Both Fay and L have told me that it's okay."
